Question about Sony ICF-SW7600 AM/FM/SW Radio

3 Answers

I have connected the power adapter to the wall outlet while my SW7600GR working on batteries. Then disconnect the power adapter without turning the radio off first, unplugging the power adapter from wall outlet and finally unplugging the cord. Now I can't turn it on with batteries! I have battery sign with a slash on it. I did what's written in the owner's manual; I plugged the power adapter one again, turn the radio on, turn it off again and unplugged the adapter with the correct order. It didn't worked! Help needed to run the radio on batteries again. Best regards, Apo

Before writing to you I read the owner's manual and saw the issue about the batteries. I also replaced the batteries with the fresh ones. I just tried 3 sets just to be sure. Nothing happened. The problem exists. When I turn the radio with fresh batteries installed I see for a short while the screen changing to the preset station and immediately turns back to locked position with a battery sign with a slash on it. No way.
    Need more sophisticated help.

Remove the batteries for a short while, reinsert and then power on the radio. Check if the batteries are OK. Try powering on with charger and minus the batteries.

Hello,

Test the radio with another battery or test your battery with another unit in other to make sure the battery is not drained. If the battery is still very good and it not still powering the radio, then believe me, the battery terminal might have loosed contact with the radio, that is, there might be some disconnection between the battery terminal wires and the radio.

To solve this problem, you will have to open the radio. Get a screw drive, open the radio, check the battery area, and you will see a wire connected between the battery terminal and the radio panel, make sure this wire is well connected with the radio panel, then fix in the battery while the radio is still loosed. I bet that is will pick up with the battery this time around.

Make sure you hold the battery firm to the radio and it will certainly work.

This should be a minor problem. The battery and radio are not clicking with each other, so fix this by practically opening the radio and fix and disconnected wires, and test if the battery is very good, irrespective of it being a new battery.

I hope this helps and make sense to you.

Good luck.

The Battery sign with a slash on it is a indication of faulty battery or the weak battery. The battery needs to be replaced/.Some cases the battery gets overcharged and due to this it internally gets leaked. So replacing the battery should help in this case.this radio units dont come with spare batteries with the unit.So but the new set of 4AA batteries and replace the batteries and check.Insert the batteries to proper position. You can get replacement batteries at www.radioshack.com .Or at local electronics parts store. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

What's your problem? the wii wont turn on

    • 1 Disconnect any accessories, such as GameCube controllers or SD cards.
    • 2 Unplug your Nintendo Wii AC adapter from the wall outlet and from the back of your Nintendo Wii. Leave the adapter disconnected for two minutes. Reconnect the adapter to the console and plug the outlet end straight into a wall outlet, not a surge protector.
    • 3 Remove the AC adapter from the wall outlet again. If the Wii has yet to turn on, the problem may lie within your electrical outlet. Plug a lamp, nightlight or something electrical into the outlet the AC adapter was connected to. If the outlet appears to work, then you'll have to test the AC adapter itself.
    • 4 Run your fingers along the AC adapter cable and visually look for any damage, such as frayed wires or a cracked piece of cable. Also look for the model number "RVL-002" and "Wii" on the adapter. If you don't see the "RVL-002" model number and "Wii" on the adapter, then you are using an unlicensed adapter, which can cause instability and power failure. If the adapter has incurred any damage, you will likely have to buy a new adapter.
    • 5 Spray air to clean out the vents on the back of the Nintendo Wii. If your Wii has been sitting for a long time, then dust and dirt may have built up around the vents, preventing the console from cooling itself. If the console cannot cool itself, it overheats and shuts down.
    • 6 Click "Start," "Internet Explorer" and visit the Nintendo repair page (see Resources) to open a repair claim. If you tried the above steps and your Wii has yet to power on, your system probably needs professional repair.

My camera wont turn on.

This problem occurs when your camera has weak batteries or the wall outlet is not working. Try to change your batteries or just try another wall outlet for adapter/charger. Also, make sure that the battery is inserted properly.

You could also follow these steps:

Check batteries -> Connect camera to an AC adapter -> Remove all batteries -> Disconnect AC adapter -> Wait 2-3 minutes -> Reinsert batteries -> Reconnect adapter -> Turn on your camera.

I hope it works! Give it a try. If it won't work, contact the firm that produces your model of camera.

The light is flashing orange on adapter and no power to system when turned on

It is possible that there is some foreign particles inside one of the connectors. Since the power supply does come apart and also disconnects from the unit, you can try to clean it to see if it will sort out your problem. Here's what to try:

1. Disconnect the AC adapter from the wall and the console. Let it rest for a few hours so that you do not electrocute yourself.

2. Disconnect the wall power cord from the AC adapter brick. Check the connections on both ends to see if it needs to be cleaned.

3. Clean any ends of the adapter with alcohol solution (isopropyl, or "rubbing" alcohol). Make sure the connection to the console is clean as well. Allow to dry.

4. Reconnect all necessary parts and try your console again.

If that does not work, there could be another problem with power flow to the AC adapter or a problem with the adapter itself.

My laptop wont start even though the light indicator in the charger is on

You may first try performing the steps mentioned below:
1) Connect the AC adapter into a known working AC outlet and to the DC jack on the notebook.
2) Verify the correct AC adapter is being used, and not a third-party replacement AC adapter.
3) Do not connect the AC adapter to a surge protector or extension cord.
4) If the DC jack on the computer is loose or damaged, the computer may require service.
5) Some AC adapters have a POWER LED indicator and can be confirmed as receiving power by ensuring the LED is lit. If the AC adapter is damaged, or the LED is not lit or continuously flickers when plugged into a working AC outlet, the adapter must be replaced.
6) Attempt to turn on the computer normally.
7) Press and hold the Power Switch for 5 seconds.
8) Remove the battery.
9) Disconnect the AC power adapter.
10) Press and hold the Power Switch for 5 seconds.
11) Connect the AC power adapter.
12) Attempt to turn on the computer.
NOTE: If the computer turns on without the battery, connect and charge the battery for 24 hours.
13) Disconnect all external devices that are connected to the computer.
14) Attempt to turn on the computer.
15) Remove any additional Random Access Memory (RAM) that was installed in the computer.
16) Attempt to turn on the computer.
17) The troubleshooting steps listed above should resolve your issue.
If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required.

Follow the steps below to determine whether the problem is related to the AC adapter or your notebook system board:
  1. Remove the battery and disconnect all external devices from the computer.
  2. Hold the Power button for several seconds, with all power sources removed. This drains residual power from the system, and may correct many problems.
  3. Connect the AC adapter to a wall outlet and plug the other end into the computer.
  4. Press the Power button .
  5. Is the Power indicator light (LED) on or off?
****If notebook power indicator light (LED) is on, the AC adapter is working correctly***
If the power indicator LED is off, the AC power adapter may need to be replaced. To determine if the AC power adapter needs to be replaced follow the steps below:
  1. Ensure that the AC adapter is plugged directly into a known working wall outlet.
NOTE: To check the wall outlet, plug in a different known working device like a light, radio etc.
  2. Check all of the following connections:
    • The connection from the AC adapter to the wall outlet.
    • The connection into the power adapter from the wall outlet.
    • The connection from the AC adapter to the notebook.
  3. Press the power button again to test the notebook PC.
  4. If the power indicator does not turn on, remove the AC power adapter from the notebook PC and re-insert the battery. Then press the power button. If the power indicator light still does not turn on, then the AC Adapter needs to be replaced.
*****Reseating the RAM may resolve this issue.****
Step 1 - Remove the battery
  1. Slide and hold the battery release latch to the unlock position.
  2. Use your finger to lift the battery up and out.
Step 2 - Remove the memory module
  1. Locate the memory module cover on the bottom of the notebook.
  2. Remove the screw that covers the memory module.
  3. Use your finger or a flat head screw driver to lift the inside edge of the memory module and remove it.
  4. Push both tabs outward simultaneously to release the memory module.
  5. Grasp the memory module by the edges and pull gently to remove it.
  6. After removing one module, replace the memory expansion cover and then replace the screw.
Step 3 - Replace the battery
  1. Insert the battery into the notebook.
  2. Push the battery into the base enclosure until you hear a click.
  3. Connect the AC adapter and turn on the notebook.
fter the memory is reseated, connect the AC adapter and turn on the notebook. If the notebook boots normally and the Windows desktop appears no further action is needed. If this problem re-occurs often, contact an HP Support Specialist to schedule a repair.

No power at all and power supply and battery are good

Hello,

My name is Vikram Kumar Thumu, from India-Hyderabad. I have seen your message on the issue related to issue with notebook that seems to do not start at all. I would like to provide my suggestions on the issue. I hope that this should work for you and will resolve the issue.

Please try below solutions on the issue.

Solution 1: Power Drain
----------------------------------

1. Make sure that pc in OFF and then disconnect the Power cable from Wall oulet
2. And then try to remove the Battery from Pc, then let the Notebook idle for 1 minute.
3. Then make sure that there is no power and battery, then try to Press and hold Power button of PC for 30 seconds,  and then release power Buttsn of Pc after 30 seconds. This should release the Static Power that is located in PC
4. Then reconnect the Battery and then powerr cable, then try to power ON PC, and check the issue.

I hope that this should start the PC, if the issue still persists then try the next solution.

I guess that there could be an fault with PC power Adapter or with Power Cord, try to check for damage on the Power Adapter or on Power cord . If they are fine, please try to disconnect them and reconnect it firmly and check the issue. You can also try to isolate the issue by connecting the PC in another wall outlet  and checkk out the issue.

Solution 2:
---------------

Check whether If Notebook power indicator light (LED) is on, when AC adapter is connected.

Power indicator light (LED) is off
If the power indicator LED is off, the AC power adapter may need to be replaced.
