Buy one from an infocus service center. they're under $20 (because it has a 16:9 ratio). but to replace it, you have to remove the top, front, and rear panels. between the lamp and the lens is the colorwheel. carefully remove the 2 screws holding it on and set it aside. the ribbon cable is still attached, so you have limited space. remove the screws holding the tunnel clamp. remove the clamp and the tunnel. replace and reverse instructions. it's part # 306-0095-01

Hello guys,

I have a BENQ MP622C projector and had a same problem, right side had a shadow from the right side. If it is only a few inches you can adjust it with the screws, one just beside the light tunnel and one from the bottom of main lens a little to the left when looking from the front, see the pictures below.
You can adjust your picture, it helped me a lot, it will hopefully last another 1000-2000 hours... maybe more...

ENJOY!

Infocus 4805 Light Tunnel DIY Replacement Option

About a year ago my light tunnel failed and I was able to fix it thanks to info on the net. Then about a month ago I decided to try to finally replace my Light Tunnel. Mainly because replacement parts are discontinued and manufacturer repair is way too expensive. In the process of failing, I was able to find a great low cost solution that's pretty easy to fabricate. My post is here:

www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1304694

If you have never opened your Projector go here:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=556431
It's regarding Dust Blobs, but it has pics to show how to disassemble the unit.

So as for the Tunnel and getting to it...here is a thread for a different model PJ, but the layout is very similar:

Hope this post is helpful to you :)

Its commonly refered to as a Light Tunnel Failure. Go to www.avsforum.com and search for "4805 Light Tunnel" and you will finds threads on how to fix the problem.
If you have never opened the PJ before, there are 1-2 threads about opening the cabinet.
I also posted a DIY replacement solution that may help:

Fixing an Infocus X2 Light Tunnel Problem...

Hi JF1226

This quite a tricky job , but not impossible.

You will see once you've taken out the light tunnel ( also known as the packlight pipe module ) that there is one or two of the small mirrors that has come loose as a result of the lamp's heat.

Glue them back with Super Glue that dries very fast.
Do them one by one , always try to build them back in from edge to edge i.e. - If the top one and left side one is loose , do the side one first and then the top one - just makes it easier.

Remember you only have one shot at this , so do it carefully.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya.

Infocus X2 shadow on right side

You are describing a light tunnel failure. Unfortunately, Infocus has decided to discontinue any parts for the X series. Your only recourse is to repair the tunnel with superglue. Or buy a new projector. If you do attempt repair, note that the corners do not line up, rather the sides are offset slightly.

How much does a light tunnel repair cost?

Hi there

The light tunnel is not a expensive part to have replaced and it is better to do it than to keep on buying new lamps.

You can easily find your nearest Authorised Service Dept online.

Tip : Don't let just any monkey do this type of work on your unit , rather pay a bit more with the authorised agents.

Shadow on left side of image--light tunnel problem?

Hi there

Yes the light tunnel has four tiny mirrors facing each other. If you know what you're looking at you can easily glue it back.

Otherwise you'll have to get it replaced by a repairer.

Infocus x3 video problem

Sounds like it could be the mirror tunnel. There is a very small mirror tunnel behind the color wheel (looks like a long prism) that can often fail as it is very fragile. This tunnel concentrates and channels the light to the DLP chip and if it collapses it can cause the very issue you describe.
