I'm no expert but currently have the lid off my machine. Roughly where did you find the disconnected wire? I assume as you replaced the belt, it is at the back of the machine? There are a couple of male spade connections just above the water pipe inlets where I can see a brown and white wire? Does your wire have a female spade connection?

Whirlpool Dryer Various Test Procedures - Part 1

TEST #1 Supply Connections
This test should only be done after confirming proper voltage at the outlet.
1. Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
2. Remove the cover plate from the back of the dryer.
3. Check that the power cord is firmly connected to the dryer’s wire harness.
4. Access the machine control electronics without disconnecting any wiring to the control board.
5. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity between the neutral (N) terminal of the plug and P8-3 (white wire) on the machine control board. If there is continuity, go to step 6. If there is no continuity, disconnect the white wire of the harness from the power cord. Test the continuity of the power cord neutral wire . If an open circuit is found,
replace the power cord. Otherwise, go to step 6.
6. In a similar way, check the continuity between the L1 terminal of the plug and P9- 2 (black wire) on the control board. If there is continuity, go to step 8. If there is no continuity, check the continuity of the power cord for power cord’s L1 wire. If an open circuit is found, replace the power cord. Otherwise, go to step 7.
7. Replace the main harness.
8. Visually check that the P5 connector is inserted all the way into the machine control electronics.
9. Visually check that the user interface assembly is properly inserted into the front console.
10. If both visual checks pass, replace the user interface assembly.
11. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
12. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
13. If indicators still do not light, the machine control electronics has failed: Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
Replace the machine control electronics. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.

TEST #2 Machine Control Power Check
This test is used to determine if power is present at the machine control electronics.
NOTE: The drum light is controlled by the machine control on all models.
1. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
2. Open the door.If the drum light illuminates, then power is present at the machine control, and it is functional. Go to TEST #6. If the drum light fails to illuminate, do not assume the machine control electronics needs replacement. Several conditions may cause the drum light not to illuminate, including a bad bulb. If the drum light does not illuminate, go to TEST #1.

TEST #3 Drive Motor Circuit
This test will check the wiring to the motor and the motor itself. The following items are part of this motor system:
Harness/connection Belt/belt switch Drive motor Centrifugal switch Door switch Machine control electronics
1. Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
2. Access the machine control electronics and measure the resistance across P8-4 and P9-1.
If resistance across P8-4 and P9-1 is in the range of 1 to 6 ohms, replace the machine control electronics.
Otherwise, go to step 3.
3. Check the wiring and components in the path between these measurement points by referring to the appropriate wiring diagram and strip circuit in Section 7.
4. Check the belt switch and drive motor. Access the belt switch and drive motor by removing the front panel/drum assembly. Slowly remove the drum belt from the spring-loaded belt switch tension pulley, gently letting the belt pulley down.
5. Remove the white connector from the drive motor switch.
6. Check for the resistance values of the motor’s Main and Start winding coils. NOTE: Main and Start winding coils must be checked at the motor.WINDING RESISTANCE ω CONTACT POINTS OF MEASUREMENT
MAIN 1.4–2.6 Blue wire in back at pin 4 and bare copper wire on pin 5 of black drive motor switch
START 1.4–2.8 Blue wire in back at pin 4 and bare copper wire on pin 3 of black drive motor switch. If the resistance at the motor is correct, there is an open circuit between the motor and machine control electronics.
Check for failed belt switch. If the Start winding resistance is much greater than 4 ohms, replace the motor.
7. Check the belt switch by measuring resistance between the two blue wires while pushing up the belt switch tension pulley. If the resistance reading goes from infinity to a few ohms as pulley arm closes the switch, belt switch is OK. If not, replace the belt switch. If belt switch is OK and there is still an open circuit, check and repair the wiring harness.
8. Door switch problems can be uncovered in the Door Switch Diagnostic Test; however, if this was not done, the following can be done without applying power to the dryer. Connect an ohmmeter across P8-3 (neutral, white wire) and P8-4 (door, tan wire). With the door properly closed, the ohmmeter should indicate a closed circuit
(0–2 ohms). If not, replace the door switch assembly.

Change drier belt on model number 41794702300 Kenmore stackable

1. UNPLUG UNIT. 2. On the front of the unit, remove two screws from the bottom panel. Remove it and you will see two screws holding the top panel and door in place. 3. Remove the screws and gently pull up and out on the door panel, INSURE NOT TO PULL ON THE WIRES LEADING TO THE DOOR SWITCH. 4. Remove wires from door switch. MAKE SURE TO NOTE WHICH WIRES CONNECT TO WHICH TAB. 5. Set door aside and you will have complete access to drum. Remove old belt, if necessary, noting now it is around the drum and weaved through or around the tension bar below the drum. 6. Once removed, or if there is no belt, or a broken belt, put the new belt around the drum so that the slack hangs below the drum. NOTE: You will probably see a black mark around the drum where the belt has laid, about in the middle of the drum. Lay the belt on that path. 6A. Lay on your back with both hands available, raise drum slightly to get access to the belt. Take slack in belt, raise tension bar slightly out of the way, bring belt UNDER the pulley on tension bar and put it around the pulley/spindle on the motor. (This may take another hand) Slowly lower tension bar back down to make contact with belt, applying tension to belt. 7. Get the door panel and reconnect the door switch. 8. Start to put door panel in place, while slightly raising drum to fit into position, careful to the raise to high or **** drum out of position off the back rollers or cause belt to slip off. Push door panel into place and put screws in. 9. Once you've got the door secure, test the belt by reaching inside and manually turning the drum clockwise until it seems to turn easily with not bumps. This is allowing the belt to settle into place and insuring it is not going to pop off; if it does, repeat the operation. If it turns easily, move on to... 10. Replace lower panel. 11. Plug in unit and test to insure drum moves freely. If not, you may need to readjust the way the door panel fits in place with the drum, or the belt on the tension bar. 12. If you need further help, please let me know.
Good luck. It's simpler than it sounds. G

I just got a ntc Temperature Sensor for a W1213 Washer and was wondering how easy it is to change??

Easy.

Make sure there's no water in the drum.

Important! Switch off and remove plug from electricity supply!

Remove front base plinth (pulls off use a plastic lever if necessary - one inside soap dispenser drawer). Remove front panel of machine (torx screws at bottom, torx screw under drum. Slacken wire around door seal and remove (hook it with a smallish screwdriver. Do not damage seal. they are ridiculously expensive).

Unclip seal from front panel. Pull front panel out from the bottom, then down. Reach around the now detached front panel and unclip door lock wiring). Put panel somewhere it won't fall over.

Locate element underneath drum at the front - oval rubber with connections to it.

Temperature sensor is in the middle of the element. Unclip the plug from the back of the sensor. Gently but firmly pull the sensor out toward you. It's just a friction fit in the rubber. you can use narrow pliers but don't crush the socket of the sensor. If you want to test it, put a multimeter set to ohms on it. Resistance will vary under say a hot or cold tap/faucet.

New temperature sensor will push fit into old hole - moisten case first to make it easier with a tiny bit of washing up liquid (or spit!). You might want to test it first as above.

Reconnect wires, lock harness, front panel, attach door seal, attach door seal retaining wire, screws, base plinth.

Congratulate yourself on saving shed loads of cash.

Install dyer belt MAYTAG

Hello there
Here is a detailed instruction for you ok
  1. Remove the two screws that hold the control console to the dryer; they are located on each end of the console. Turn the control console forward onto its face. Disconnect the wiring harness from the dryer to the console. Press in on the locking tab and pull the connectors apart. Set the control panel out of your work area. To remove the top, insert a putty knife between the front and top panels. Locate the retaining clip and push in on it to release the corner of the top panel. Lift up on the corner and release the opposite retaining clip. Set the top panel out of the way. Two screws that attach the front panel to the sides are located at the top corners. Remove the screws and swing the top of the front panel out so that you can access the door switch wiring harness. Disconnect the wiring harness from the door switch and lift the front panel away from the dryer.
  2. Replace the Belt
  3. Locate the idler pulley by reaching behind the drum and motor assembly. Using your hand, push the idler pulley to the left to release tension on the belt2.gif. Notice the routing of the belt around the motor and idler arm for reference when attaching the new belt. Remove the belt from the motor pulley. Lift up on the drum slightly and remove the belt from the drum.

With the rib side pointed inward, lift the drum up and set the belt around the drum. Route the belt through the motor pulley and idler pulley. Pull the idler pulley to the right to reapply tension to the belt. ok?
  4. not too hard
  5. hope this is verry helpful for you

The standard warranty on appliances is two years, contact Whirpool at (866) 698-2538 to check warranty status.

Regarding the motor, the motor is tested by energizing it directly, and reading volts from MCU (motor control unit) or timer control board.

Here diagrams and parts for your model.
