If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

Maytag Centennial Dryer (MEDC400VW) not drying properly

First of all, please make sure the vent is clear all the way through. Next the vent must be straight as possible. Next it can not be to long. People think that because they feel the air outside the vent is clear, not always true. The vent can be partially clogged. So make sure. Next, if the vent hose has sags or bows and even tight turns. It can accumulate the moisture in it from the drying proceed. If water has collected in the vent hose the clothes will not dry properly. If the vent is to long it can not dry properly either, the blower on the dryer can only move air so far. So the shorter the better. If all of these requirements are meet. Then, I would have to start checking the thermostats. I hope I have helped you. Please respond if you need further assistance.

Please help...i have a brand new whirlpool dryer mod #wed9450wwh and it takes forever to dry a load of clothes...a small load or a large load. i have tried every setting and bought a new dryer...

Check the vent cap on the outside of your home to see what the air flow is like when the machine is on. It should be forceful enough to blow your haire back if you were to put your face in front of it. Make sure the vent hose behind the dryer is as short as possible and is not pinched or coiled. This definitely sounds like an air flow issue.

The dryer is heating up but takes forever to dry clothes

first things first, check the vent. if the unit isnt vented properly or vent hose isn't clear, it will take forever to dry. if the vent is clear, check the vent thermostat.

Front load MDE2400AZW takes forever to dry stuff. A regular load takes 1 1/2 hrs to dry,but the heat is on, and it seems to work.

Make sure the lint trap in the door is clean. It has a plastic cover that opens. Disconnect the venting at the rear and run a load, if it works you have a restriction in the hose after the dryer or in the wall past the hose.

Heats up but takes forever to dry a load of clothes

Check your dryer venting.  It normally gets clogged either right behind the dryer or where the venting exits the house.  Also make sure your lint trap is clear. If it is vented properly you should be able to feel air pressure where the venting exits the house.

Dryer has heat..but very low temp , takes forever

Make sure that your vent pipe is completely clear of excess lent. It will not dry properly if the venting is not running freely. If the unit is cleared of lent, inside and out, the only other possibility is the thermostat is not reading correctly.

Hi Linda,
First I would make sure the dryer is heating. If the dryer is heating then I would check the airflow out of the machine. Check the dryer vents, and check the opening outside where the air comes out. Make sure they are all clear and the air is flowing out properly. Any blockage in the vents will cause the dryer not to dry your cloths. If you find that your dryer is not heating, you should check the voltage to the machine. You should have 220-240 volts AC. If you only have 110 volts then you may have a blown fuse or a tripped breaker in your box. Reset the breaker or replace the fuse if you find one bad. If you are getting the proper voltage to the machine and you have good airflow and still not drying well. Call for warranty service. Do not attempt to do any internal repairs yourself. If you do this will void your warranty and you sure dont want to pay for service on a 1 week old dryer.
I hope this will FixYa, and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask. I am happy to help.
