SOURCE: taking off stand from LG tv to mount on wall

I work on TVs and the amount of screws in the back is crazy.

find a place to lay the tv down on the screen, use some pads and a blanket to prevent scratching or cracking screen. your couch or bed may be a good choice, but make sure it is stable. let the stand hang over the edge with no weight on it. now look for 6-8 screws per per leg of the base. depending on the size of your tv. these are usually the larger screws on the tv and attached to the frame of the TV. remove these screws in the base and slide the base out.

your manual should also have a brief description of base removal as well. dont worry about taking out the wrong screws, you can put them back in it is not the right screw. with tv on its face, no parts will fall out. hope this helps.

SOURCE: How do you remove the bottom stand from the TV set

Hi there,
Most flat TV's actually have the stand held on by 4 screws on the back of the TV, not the bottom. Look closely and you should see them down 4 small holes. These hold the stand on. I think what you may have done is taken the bottom plate of the stand.
Hope this helps

I can't remove the stand off the tv

Hi, i have instruction on removing your base stand.

Removing the Pedestal Stand
1) Carefully lay the front of the unit face down on a flat,
cushioned surface such as a quilt or blanket. Leave the stand
protruding over the edge of the surface.
Note: Extreme care should always be used when removing
the pedestal stand to avoid damage to the LCD panel.
2) Remove the jack pack cover on the back of the TV to expose
the pedestal stand screws. The jack pack cover can be removed
without tools.
3) Remove the four screws shown in the diagram below. This will
allow removal of the pedestal stand.
4) Once you have removed all four screws holding the pedestal
stand in place, remove the pedestal stand from the TV by
sliding the pedestal stand away from the TV.

I can not get the base off

Hello,

Follow the below instruction on how to the base off your Toshiba LCD TV;
  1. Turn off your Toshiba TV if it is on.
  2. Unplug your TV from the wall and any other devices (like DVD players or Blu-ray players) that it is connected to.
  3. Put a blanket, towel or some other kind of soft object down on the floor (if you have hardwood floors and not carpeting in your home).
  4. Set your Toshiba TV down onto the soft surface with the screen facing downward toward the floor.
  5. Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the two large, plastic bolts on the rear of the TV stand's base. These bolts are holding the stand onto your Toshiba TV. Set the bolts aside.
  6. Use your hand to pull the base off of the Toshiba TV. You will now be able to set your TV completely on the ground. Put the base (as well as the accompanying bolts) aside for safe-keeping, in case you ever need to use them again.
I hope the above helps.

Good luck.

Try to mount TV to the wall and need to release the TV stand

To Display your LCD TV using a Wall Bracket:

If you decide to wall mount your LCD TV, always use a ULlisted wall bracket appropriate for the size and weight of the LCD TV: 32HL37/32HL37U/32HL17/32HL17U: 38.6 lbs (17.5 kg)

37HL17: 46.3 lbs (21.0 kg)

42HL17: 59.5 lbs (27.0 kg)
1) CAUTION: Two people are required for installation.

2) Unplug and remove any cables and/or other component connectors from the rear of the TV.

3) Follow the instructions provided with your wall bracket. Before proceeding, make sure the appropriate bracket(s) are attached to the wall and the back of the TV as described in the instructions provided with the wall bracket.

4) After attaching the appropriate bracket(s) to the wall and the back of the TV, remove the pedestal stand from the TV as described below.

Cant get my stand of my tv to mount it on the wall can you help?

If you turn the set over you will see a set of screws attached to the bottom of the stand (inside hollow area). There also two screws I believe on the back of the unit near the stand area that need to come out. The stand should come off now. But do you really want to mount it on the wall?
Oh well,
Hope this helps
