Hi. AC adapters are standard in sizes. You mentioned that you have to jiggle the cord to get the charge to your laptop then this something to do with the case socket of the adapter (loose). I guess you need to purchase new adapter for your laptop since there are no casing for the adapter only.

HP Pavillion dv6700 - won't power up

Hi have you tried to power up without battery?

Wen i swtich on the laptop it desnot on

You have three possible parts in the computer that's causing this problem.

1. Ac Adapter - it is the cord that you use to power up your computer.
2. Battery
3. Motherboard of your laptop

What you need to do is to isolate the part what's causing the problem.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Remove the battery from your computer and power it up by using the AC adapter only. If it goes well, then you need to replace the battery.

2. If the AC adapter doesn't power your computer. Then, check if the light in your AC adapter is lit. If not, try another AC which is working fine. You can borrow from your friend or family member who has the same computer. If a known good AC adapter does not turn on your computer, then replace your AC adapter.

3. If your battery is a known good working part and your AC adapter is also a known good part. then you need to contact a technician to get your computer serviced. The motherboard is an important part and you don't want to try fixing it.

I hope you get an idea on how to fix the problem. I hope this helps!

I have an HP G60 laptop that has been shutting down by itself lately. The battery is 2 years old and does not hold a charge for very long. It seems to occur usually when the unit is plugged in with the...

Hi there! Well for this kind of problem usually you have to look on two problems . First for the battery itself the expected life of that is only 1year it depends on your usage on it. Because all battery are consumable so maybe the battery is the issue here. But you need to look on the Ac adapter as well by checking on the Bios (when you turn on the Computer Press F2 that is the Bios section). Check the Ac adapter if it's being detected there. Or you can also take out the battery and run the computer with just an Ac adapter then check if that will work. If using the computer with just an ac adapter works fine. Buy a new battery. Hope this helps . God Bless.

Asus netbook ac power cord adapter stopped blue light on...not charging computer...what to do and need new one?

You need a replacement AC adapter, it's very cheap online.
1)Output Voltage is within +/- 5% of your old charger's output.
2) Output Current is the same or higher than that of your old charger.
3) Connector tip must fit securely into your laptop.

You may have to use the battery and the ac adapter at the same time. it could be that your battery is not yet charged that's why its not working.

if you want to know if there's something wrong with one of the components of your can try this...

turn your computer on with just the ac adapter plugged in - if working then try both ac adapter and battery.

if your system will not turn on with just the ac adapter plugged in, it could be there's something wrong with the ac adapter or with the motherboard of the system

Power cord for computer

Looks like you have some issues with the port on the motherboard where the AC adapter is plugged in. Try another AC Adapter cord in, if still the same, then call up Dell to have the motherboard replaced.

Video upload....

well, the connector that comes from the 2nd speaker goes into the speaker port in the back of the first speaker.

The wierd cord possibly fits into the 12v dc slot in the back.. and the other end would go to a power adapter..

Seems you are missing a power adapter,, like you said earlyer.

Basically you would need a standard power adapter which fits into the speaker.

You could get some universal power adapter for it like

something to this direction

If you want to make sure you get the right kind of power apdater
Try contacting jbl directly

I was looking around ebay, found this

Theres the power adapter in the middle, I think the odd cord goes to the back of the first speaker and the other end would go to a power adapter.. try contacting jbl they should be able to get you what you need.

Seems you have everything else you need except for the power adapter.

Toshiba A-135 Notebook only works with a charged battery but will not work with the AC Adapter. Is the system port bad?

It could be that the DC jack (what you plug the AC adapter in to) has become loose from the motherboard, or it could be the adapter itself. Plug the adapter into the computer, and -gently- move the cord, just a bit. Does the end in the computer move around a little? If so, you'll want to get it looked at.

If the problem is with the adapter itself, you'll need a replacement. I suggest calling up Toshiba and see about getting a replacement adapter. If the computer is less than a year old and falls under Manufacturer's warranty, any parts that you may need should be covered.

My charger won't work so now my computer wont turn on

Unplug you ac adapter from the wall and plug a lamp in to verify that the wall plug is working correctly. Pick up the adapter to see if it feels warm. Most adapters will feel warmer than room temperature if they are working,
If the cords on your adapter can be unplugged from the adapter, reseat them. Try the ac adapter in another wall plug to see if it comes on. The adapter may have an LED on it that indicates whether or not it is on. If it doesn't, about the only way to check it is to use a multimeter to see if there is any voltage on the plug that goes into the back of the laptop. If something else will work in the original wall plug and the adapter won't work in another wall plug, you will need to obtain another ac adapter.
Once you've tried these things, let me know and we'll go from there.
