La Crosse has quite a number of models for wrist watches. Normally the watches are meant to adjust their time themselves. Although this differs from units to unit. Find below a link to the different ways to set the date and time for your watch:

hope this solution is helpful?

My kennith cole watch skipping a beat on the 5th second. And everytime I set time It lacks behind

Watches with a low battery sometimes are programmed to skip and then double a pulse to get your attention. So, you might see the second hand of your watch pulse every 2 or even every 5 seconds, making bigger than expected moves on your dial. In each of these situations, though, your watch should still be keeping time overall.
The situation that you describe sounds more like you either have a defective gear somewhere in your movement, or, equally likely, you have a bit of dirt hat is gumming up one particular tooth on a gear somewhere in your movement.

On a mechanical watch, the usual solution is to service the movement, disassembling the gear train and washing the gears in a special cleaning solution. Each gear would then be inspected for imperfections and either honed or replaced so that the movement as a whole worked properly again. Unfortunately, very few battery-powered quartz watches are designed for this type of service. A watch repair service can try to run your watch at high speed using a special test rig to see whether that flings out any dirt. They can also inspect the watch movement, though the amounts of dust and dirt we're talking about can be too small to be easily spotted.

Bottom line advice: try replacing the battery to see whether that makes a difference. If it doesn't, there's a decent chance that you'll be in the market for a new watch.

It is best to go to a watchmaker for this issue. If the battery was improperly installed, it can damage the movement or contacts, which will mean the movement must be replaced. We see this issue often. Another common problem is that the oils from the installer's fingers may be causing a bad connection if the battery and the contacts are not properly cleaned. We would use the Pulse test to see if the watch has current, if so, the movement is bad mechanically, it must be replaced. If it has no current, we would check and clean all connections and replace the battery. If there is still no current (using Pulse diagnostic) then the movement is bad and it must be replaced.

Watch wasn't running, put in a new battery & it still doesn't run.

Sorry you are having problems with your watch.
here are some possibliities.
1st you will want to make sure the new battery is good; sometimes you just get a bad battery. These can be tested with an inexpensive battery/ watch battery tester (about $10) for that item I would recommend searching Ebay or checking a search engine to order one.
2nd is that the hands may simply be stuck. I use a machine called a Cyclonic watch machine, this sends pulses through the caseback and turns the second hand. This breaks any dust or oils that have hardened away from the hands.
It sounds like you will need to take the watch to a jewelry store. I would call first and I'm sure that only an independant jeweler will have these machines on hand (they should not charge anything to test your battery and set your watch on the Cyclonic).
If the problem is more complex you can have it repaired or have a new movement installed. For either of these repairs I would expect to spend around $50.
Hope this was helpful. Post more questions if you have them.

Sportline watch

Love my watch, Was placing it on wrist, time correct, pressed button to test pulse and everything went blank. Pressed reset button, with no effect. It has a high pitched whine when placed at ear.
Does this mean I need a new battery, and where is that done, so I don't mess it up.
Appreciate any help as I don't have the instruction book either,
Scotty
