Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Need driver to install Windows 7 on netbook with no cd/dvd drive

go here
https://www.lacie.com/us/support/index.htm?id=10008
select your model from DVD+-RW or perhaps more reliably enter your s/n in the box. Then go to 'downloads'. If you do not see what you want contact laCie support. It is possible that that there isn't a 'proper' driver, and you will have to make do with an XP or Vista. You might need a driver which supports a 64 bit o/s though I'm not sure if 32 bit drivers would compatible. (if you have a 32 bit o/s). Once you have downloaded and installed the driver you are ready. Or save it to a place on your HDD and connect your DVD device to your notebook and when prompted to look for drivers, tell your computer/wizard to look in that place on your HDD where you save the driver to. Alternatively, you might tell your computer to 'search the internet' for drivers, but I've never had success with that. If you're lucky it will use a windows driver that is already part of your system.

I have a Superwritemaster dvd/cd duplicator with lightscribe capability. But I can't get the lightscribe to work. Help!

>You need to install the drivers for Lightscribe; if you don't have them Google Lightscribe HP and you should find them on the HP website. Then you need a disk label burning program that runs Lightscribe. Droppix.com has a good one, I think HP also has a basic one.

Need driver

you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard or
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall your DVD/CD then reinstall the driver for this device
if your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down cd dvdrom drives if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark?! or a red x right click you will need to update the driver or
select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver
hope this helps

Is there a software update for lightscribe for lacie d2 blue ray burner, so that I can burn dvd titles on a disc?

When you say "burn dvd titles on a disc", do you mean to write (laser-etch) the name of the movie on the plastic disk? I am assuming that is what you mean. If not, please describe what you mean. . No, LaCie does not make a Blu-Ray LightScribe drive. This is a technology/hardware problem, not a software problem. . There are a small number of internal (I know you want external) Blu-Ray burners with Lightscribe hardware built in. Here is one: LG LightScribe GGW-H20L Blu-Ray DVD Sata Drive. . The Lightscribe website says no such media exists, even though the drives have been available since June of last year: http://lightscribe.com/products/index.aspx?id=106 Watch that site for info about the media. Once the media is available, you will be able to buy the external drive you want. . Here is a burner for only $4,400 (that is not a typo):http://www.meritline.com/sharkblu-lightscribe-8x-blu-ray-dvd-duplicator-1-11---p-35937.aspx . OK, it is a duplicator (burns up to 11 copies at once), hence the high price, but useless without the media. . BTW - It is a simple matter to buy an external USB2 or FW case and put an internal burner in that case to make an external drive. . --Dave

Just bought a lacie d2 dvd +/- rw, store bought dvd movies don't mount and therefore don't play

Disconnect the Lacie dvd drive, then reconnect it and open "system profiler" to see if the drive is now recognized under "firewire" or USB depending on your connection. If that doesn't work disconnect all peripherals and turn off your mac for 5 minutes. Start reconnecting your devices one by one.

Installation of Lightscribe

Loreen:
Check out this link, make sure that the software/tool or utilities are compatible to PC vista, please also check any firmware as well:
http://www.lacie.com/support/drivers/index.htm?id=10008
In Vista after the download is complete you might have to do this:
right click over the file and select run as administrator, (its strange but it depends upon the user trying to install software on your system).
Hope it helped!
