No it sounds like you probably didnt need a new power supply but simply needed to check your fuses this error normally occurs when a fuse or capacitor has blown and will either be really cheap or really expensive to fix depending on which it is the fuse change should be possible on your own but running a diagnostic to find out which circuit has a blown unit would require some technical assistance and tools
