Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

I have an HP CM1312 MFP nfi color laser printer. My print quality is poor (faded). The toner cartridges are in good condition. I have tried reloading the HP software, calibrating, cleaning, shaking the toner cartridges, adjusting printing density, using different computers, using differents paper types, reset the printer and the print quality remains poor. This unit is about 8 months old, when I first bought it, the black was sharp and clear, the color was brilliant (good enough for photos. Any ideas on how to remedy this issue?

Sounds like you have clogged printer heads what you will want to do is give those a thorough cleaning and than make sure you go into your service menu on the printer and reset the error count you may also want to revert to the user manual and look up how to do a factory defaults reset after doing this the printer should be operating exactly how you originally purchased it and if not it is definitely a hardware issue and may need a technician

hope this helps

I can't remember all the details, but a few weeks ago I was reading about contacts that have to be cleaned after a period of time on another model HP, and I believe they were talking about the toner or relavent print mechanism. Haven't worked on a printer in years, and not sure of their design and operation these days, so don't have specifics for you, unfortunately.
Here is one answer from copytechnet.com that might be of help:
hp cm1312 mfp i'm not familiar with this unit, but most color registration problems result from toner being in a place it is not supposed to be.

Start by removing all cartridges and ITB. Clean the entire cavity and all cartridges. Clean the color registration detector (usually located at above the ITB). Clean all scanner lenses. Try replacing the offending color cartridge to see if the problem goes away.

I think it's going to be something related to the physical aspects, but software can't be overruled.
Anyway, hope this helps, and good luck.

What is the status of your black cartridge? Is it new? used? Real HP cartridge or 3rd party. 3rd party are notorious for poor print quality. I would test a different black cartridge first to eliminate that as the problem. Post back your results and I can provide further guidance.

Could be a fuser problem, but could also be very poor quality toner cartridge(s). If a remanufacturer/compatible maker uses the wrong toner powder, it can have the wrong characteristics.

I've seen these printers with poor quality cartridges able to print a page with very little toner coverage OK, but jam EVERY page that has much real 'density' of toner. Even the configuration page on these printers has a solid band of red 5mm or so wide across the lower part of the page. Poor toners - where the fusing temperature is incorrect for this printer will cause the page to jam in the same place in the fuser EVERY TIME.

The cure - Genuine Xerox toners, or GOOD QUALITY remanufactured toners from a reputable source.

WIl not print correctly

If it is faded, it could be the transfer roller. I've had great success with simply periodically cleaning it, then getting a good printout. See my solution for this already posted: Check out this solution to the HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi Laser Color...

Otherwise, the other issue I had late last year was that it needed a new intermediate transfer belt (part #RM1-4436-000CN). You can find a good deal on one, and the instructions for replacement are on page 156 in the service manual: http://www.feedroller.com/Store/Service%20Manual/HP-CLJ-CM1312-MFP-Manual.pdf
It's not the hardest replacement ever, but needs 2-3 hours depending on skill, and a little patience.

Good luck!

Faded printing issues with Brother MFC-9320

Try cleaning the corona wire on each toner cartridge. This may help solve your solution.
If this does not help try another thing.
Try and replace the toner cartridge. Maybe your toner cartridge needs to be replaced. Usualy when printed images are light or pale a toner cartridge replacement is recommended.

Good day, i have a 4730mfp. it does not print colour correctly, the print out appears faded like the printer is out of toner, even after all toners are changed.

First thing to try is this, please go to control panel on the printer and to aministration menu. Scroll down to troubleshooting and find the PQ troubleshooting option and press ok. This will print a series of test prints. If these prints look OK then likely you have an issue with your driver. If they are faded, the second thing you need to do is check to make sure that your firmware revision is current. On the config page that prints with the pages just printed above, look on the upper left for firmware revision. Current version is 46.300.0. Download from here and install following the instruction in the readme file. Did it print OK before changing cartridges? If you installed remanufactured or 3rd party cartridges, the toner will not always provide the same quality of print.
