Question about Epson Stylus Pro 3800 InkJet Printer

3 Answers

Epson 3800 Pro - Upon replacing the maintenance cartridge with a new genuine Epson cartridge, "Maintenance Cartridge Almost Full" appeared. After making only a few prints, "Maintenance Cartridge Full" appeared. No, I did not touch the contacts with my fingers. I removed the cartridge and it is clearly not full - only a small blob of ink is visible. I did not do a head cleaning or anything that would cause ink to be expelled into the cartridge. The printer now will not print. Is there a way to over-ride the "CARTRIDGE FULL" warning?

I had re-installed the cartridge several times, even re-started the printer several times. No change.

The previous expert had no solution to my "FULL CARTRIDGE" error issue for my Epson 3800 Pro

I have no idea what you just said. Please say that in English.

Helpful information, yes, thank you. I will see what Epson can tell me - since we don't have a successful resolution of the issue at this point.
Will let you know if that leads to success!

Hmm it sounds like the sensor itself did malfunction or get damaged, even though you clearly say you didn't touch the contacts. I am researching further but as far as I can tell it does not look like there is an over-ride for that error. If there is, it's proprietary Epson information they don't want getting out there. Have you tried calling Epson to see if they can give you some more detail on a possible solution? It is possible that the new maintenance cartridge is defective or the sensor on it is not functioning properly. Before trying another new one however I'd check with Epson.

Normally you will need to let the printer know that you have preformed any maintenance on it by clearing the error count after such an error occurs and is fixed it is normally listed under general or service options on the printer menu but you may need to look through the users manual

hope this helps

Lexmark 300S is not printing black and all my ink is full. Whats the prob

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head. This model Canon/Epson printer may only let you use genuine Canon/Epson printer cartridges. If you try to refill these ink cartridges it will not work because the Canon/Epson cartridges have an embedded chip in the cartridge that detects the empty cartridge even though it has been refilled.

Why doesn't my black ink work in my Epson WorkForce 600 series after replacing the black ink cartridge?

The Epson printer may only use genuine ink cartridges which contain a chip so that you cannot fill the cartridge with ink or use non genuine ink cartridges.

Error 1404 sevice

This error indicates that the air pressure for an ink cartridge is not correct, which is usually caused by a defective ink cartridge. If you recently replaced an ink cartridge, try replacing it with a new one. If the error still appears, contact Epson for help.

How to Replace catridge epson stylus c43sx

Are any of the cartridges empty or not? Always replace the cartridges with the printer on.

If you do not have any low ink alerts, you need to enter the maintenance mode. Press the Maintenance button (has both an ink drop and a paper symbol) and the Power button at the same time. Then open the black printer cover (lift up).

If any cartridges are low or out, just lift up the printer cover. Then press the maintenance button. The cartridge carrier will move the empty cartridge to the replacement position. (If both cartridges are out or you are using the Maintenance mode, the cartridge carrier will move the black cartridge to the replacement position.) Lift up the cartridge clamp (at the back of the carrier for current cartridge to replace; it will rotate towards you.). Then lift the cartridge up; dispose of the empty cartridge. Unwrap your new cartridge and remove the yellow tape (do not touch the IC chip or remove the other tape from the cartridge). Push the new cartridge straight down into the carrier.

Close the cartridge clamp and press the maintenance button to move the color cartridge to the replacement position. Repeat the cartridge replacement steps above for that cartridge. Close the printer cover. Then press the Maintenance button again and wait while the printer charges the ink system.

For pictures to go with the steps, see http://support2.epson.net/manuals/english/ij/stylusc43/REF_G/INK_1.HTM .

I hope this helps.

I've got a epson r320 it's about 5yrs old it does not get used very much. Today I replaced couple ink cartridges, shut it off restarted it and the new cartridges is regestering as half full and even empty....

Q:

I replaced an ink cartridge and my printer still shows that ink is expended. What should I do?
A:

If you have just installed a new cartridge and you are still seeing an ink related error, the cartridge may be incorrectly installed. Follow these steps to reinstall the cartridge.

Make sure the printer is turned on, then open the printer cover.

Do one of the following:

If the red error light is on, press the Maintenance button.

If the red error light is flashing, press the Maintenance button. You see Ink Cartridge Replacement, highlighted in the Advanced Settings menu. Press OK.

You see a message on the LCD screen telling you that ink cartridge replacement will begin. Press OK to continue. The print head moves to the replacement position.

Open the cartridge cover.

Press in the tab on the back of the cartridge and lift the cartridge out of the printer.

Lower the cartridge back into the holder, with the green circuit board facing the front. Then gently push the cartridge down until it clicks into place.

Close the ink cartridge cover.

Press OK and close the printer cover.

The printer begins charging the ink delivery system.

When you see a message that charging is complete (after about a minute), press OK.

Just replaced Epson 3800 LK T5807 cartridge. It still says ink low...

Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges
