How do I print wirelessly with my Lexmark 3600-4600 series printer? I have added the printer to my network, but it will not print unless it is connected to the computer with the USB cable.

Then you have to go start menu in windows and choose units and printer , if you cant see the printer, choose add printer and serch for it on the network, then if you find it you have to select this as the main printer

Try to unplug then replug the printer into the power source to reset it. This usually fixes minor communication issues. If problem continues, try to print the wireless network settings to check if your printer is still connected to the same network as your computer(s). Follow the steps in this article: How to Print the Network Settings Page on X4600 Series All-In-Ones (AIOs). If not in the same network, you may need to reset the printer. Follow the steps on how to reset the printer wireless network settings: How to Restore the Network Settings on the X4650 AIO to the Original Factory Defaults. I was set up and have chenged my router ( Virgin HUB) I now I can't print !!!


You'll need to reconnect your printer to your new wireless network. Here's how:
  1. Click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > Printer Home.
  2. Click on Settings > Wireless Setup Utility.
  3. Follow the steps.
Once you already have the printer connected to your network, you'll need to update the port settings on your computer. Here are the steps:
  1. Under control panel, go to Printers and Faxes.
  2. Right click on your Lexmark icon and go to properties.
  3. Click on the Ports tab.
  4. Highlight the Pro700 Series port.
  5. Click on Configure port (it will search for all available printers on your network)
  6. Highlight your Lexmark Pro700 Series printer.
  7. Click on Close then click on OK.

My lexmark z1420 has been in the loft for some time, I have switched it n anf the wi-fi light keeps flashing orange no green?


Try to print the wireless settings page to determine if your printer is still on the same wireless network as your router and computer. To print the page, follow the steps in these article on How to Print the Network Settings Page on the Z1400 & Z1500 Series Inkjet Printer; a brief explanation of its values. On the page, check the Status, SSID and also the IP address and see if it's connected to your network. Otherwise, you may need to reset your Lexmark Z1420's wireless network adapter and reconfigure it. To reset, follow the steps in this article on How to Reset the Z1400 and Z1500 Series Network Settings. Launch the Lexmark wireless setup utility to reconfigure the printer to your wireless network.

I did a searcfh for 'blinking orange light' in the Got a Question field.


The Wi-Fi indicator light gives information about the status of the printer.
NOTE: Most wireless communication issues are a result of the following:
  • RF interference or wireless signal quality.
  • System of software firewall applications blocking crucial Lexmark software and ports.
  • The router has been reset. A different or new SSID(network name) and passphrase on the router creates a mismatch to those originally configured on the printer. You will need these router settings to reconfigure the printer using the included Setup Utility or Setup Assistant.
  • The printer has been turned OFF for period.

  • The INA has been configured for infrastructure, but is not linked to an access point
  • There is a security setting mismatch between access point and router.
  • Interim negotiating status while performing setup procedure.
  • Out of range or interference between printer and access point.
  • Printer unplugged for an extended period of time may cause this to happen.

How to turn on wifi


Configuring the optional internal wireless print server
If you purchased the optional internal wireless print server after your printer was already set up, follow these steps:
1 Install the internal wireless print server into the printer. For more information, see "Installing an optional internal
wireless print server" in the "Setting up the printer" chapter.
2 Click Start Programs or All Programs Lexmark 3500-4500 Series.
3 Click Wireless Setup.
4 Click Start.
5 Follow the instructions on the computer screen.
6 Click Finish to complete the installation.

Did you define the printers and printer ports to the laptops?


On the XP laptop go to network connections in the control panel and use the network setup wizard.
