Question about True GDM-26 Refrigerator

1 Answer

I have the GDM-26 Refridge. I unplugged for a week before trying it again. But, It starts up and runs for about a minute, it cools the fridge down about 10 degrees and then shuts the compressor off. The fan continues to run underneath. Then after 20 seconds or so, the compressor tries to start back up and dims the lights in the cooler for a second or two and then kicks off again. It keeps repeating this process every 20-30 seconds. I was having a problem of the fridge freezing things a few weeks before this all started. I adjusted the temp. control to it's warmest setting with no cure.

After I got it home from the sale in Nevada, It sat for a week before I plugged it into the 110 Volt outlet. It had been working great for about 3 months before all this started. I cleaned the fins off the bottom of all the dust. When it malfunctioned, It heated the inside of the fridge enough to blow up a case or two of soda.

The problem you are facing usually occurs after the refridgerator has been moved around and put on immediately after it was moved or when the compressor is short on gas.
If either of the two suggestions above is not the case then check the voltage which is being supplied by your electricity company if it is upto 220 or 110 depending on your country if it is below that then make a formal complaint to your electricity company and purchase a voltage regulator for the device. You can get some at any electronic store for about $25 to $50 depends on the size you want.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

If it was not moved recently then that is out of the question get an expert to check the gas level in the compressor and if there are any leakages in the compressor line. Then also the current which is being supplied.
    Hope this helps?

Not cooling

If it has a starting capacitor, it may be defective. If not, a hard start capacitor kit may force it to start and run again. Also unplug fridge 20 minutes and let the motor cool down. They have high temperature shut off thermostats to help prevent other problems.

I have a GE REfridge that stopped running....

The compressor never runs out of freon - unless you have a leak somewhere, which is rare - and besides, your compressor motor would be still running but you would not get cooling - the most common problem associated with this is control board failure, so compressor does not start at all. Try unplugging the refrigerator for a few minutes and plug in again - see if this resets the control board - if problem persists or comes back you will need to call service and have them check the control board.

Before doing so, try unplugging and plugging back in after a few minutes, it might get things started again - if you have a manual knob for your cold control try setting the dial to off, then turn it back on all the way until you hear a "click" sound to confirm your thermostat is working properly - if you hear the clicking on the thermostat area, but compressor motor does not come on, call service.

Kenmore refrigerator model 106 will not cool fridge or freezer

is your refridge leveled if not level it and stable. Try turn it off for a couples of hours and then put it back. does the refridge move a lot when u open it fix this refridge doesn't has to be moving when opening when on and moving this agitates the freon creates more pressure so it has a pressure switch and turns off the compressor to protect it from over or under pressure

We have a GDM-26 commerical coke machine. Only

If any of your drinks are freezing you need to adjust your temp setting. The suggested setting is 5. changing the temp setting basically tells the refrigerator to stop cooling when the temp hits a low degree, and to start cooling when it hits a high degree. This keeps your drinks not to hot, not too cold, but just right. If this doesn't work I would change the cold control altogether, it might've went bad. If you have a few minutes, locate the condensor fan (bottom) and make sure it is periodically turning on and off like it should.

Refridge. compartment warm

Not fridge death. If nothing is running it is a good sign that it is repairable. Unplug it. Where the temperature is located, remove it if you can. There will be two wires connected to it. Connect these two wires together and then plug in the refrigerator. It should run and cool. If this makes it run and cool your problem is the thermostat. Replace it.

If it does not run from above, the compressor may have a burnt overload protector or wire off.

Have a 2 year old SAMSUNG RS2545SH Side by Side

Control board has gone bad....

What happens is the defrost is controlled electronically from a circuit board, when this goes bad, the freezer quits defrosting, and freezes the fans that circulate air through the fridge side of things.

To check this, unplug the entire fridge, leave the freezer open, wait for it to defrost a bit, if this causes the fridge to start cooling again when you plug it back in, then its the defrost. You should also see ice crystals on the back of the freezer just under the icemaker.
