When replacing caps make sure the you use the same capacitance and type ex 1000mf electrolytic but you will want to go higher with its voltage rating ex if it is 10v go higher like 25v if you can find it.You will need a soldering iron, solder wick to remove solder and a roll of solder to install new parts. also make sure you put them in the same way as the original there is a plus and minus on them. Very important!!

Run capacitor had a burnt off terminal. replaced with same capacitor and the same thing happened. wondering what to test to keep this from happening. it is running off a dedicated 230 volt outlet

All electrical comnections must be clean and tight.
It seems that the capacitor terminal was loose amd/or dirty. With a loose or dirty connection there is resistance and resistance consumes power, power dissipated as heat.
Replace the capacitor wire leads connectors with vlean tight ones.
To check for other possible problems, if possible, read the capacitor voltage while the motor is running, should not exceed the cap rated voltage

Replaced 3 capacitors for start up issue, now have radom with vertical lines

You will need to replace all the capacitors in the output side of the power supply. It is possible you have other bad capacitors that are not bulging at the tops. The power supply generates a voltage used by the the video processor on the main board. If this voltage is out of whack, it can affect your video. I would recommend you check all power supply voltages for accuracy and ripple.

Lg flatron w1943 flickering

Two things, First you need to replace all of the capacitors on the power supply board at the same time even if they do not show signs of failure because they have been under stress. Secondly, you need to use the correct ratings on the capacitors not just the mfd and voltage. Parts from Radio Shack and such will not work right and can cause additional damage to the power supply board. Here is a link to an article about getting the correct capacitors for LCD monitor repairs.

I hope this helps,

There is to much red in the picture and another thing the peoples faces look distorted

You first much check your power supply for the proper output of voltages. EX: 12v 5v 24v etc. These values are stamped on the power supply themselves. After that, if you have one that is reading low you will need to trace the capacitors in-line with the lower value to replace the capacitors. EX: 1000uF 10v ----> 1000uF 35v replacement should be followed. After that is repaired check your mainboard (AKA tuner board) for the correct supply voltage. If this corrects the issue the powersupply was faulty. If the issue persists, you will need a mainboard replacement as well.

Hope this helps, please rate :)

Does not turn on. Lights the red led

You will have failed capacitors on the power supply that will not allow the supply voltage to reach the other components of the tv to allow it to power on. The best thing to do is take off the back (if you know what you're doing, of course) and look for buldged capacitors and replace. Replace with the same uF value and equal to or higher voltage value!

Rate if this has been helpful

My union color television is dead only power red light is on.

Swollen, Bulged, Bad Capacitor The main cause of this power up problem are bad capacitors on your power if the capacitor is bad
What you need for the opening of the television is Screw driver, Soldering iron(40watts+), Desoldering braid, Soldering wire, and capacitors.
Now lets talk about the specs, capacitors hold 3 important value:
1. The capacitance measured in uF(micro farads) (ex. 2200uF), 2. Voltage (ex. 10v), 3. Temperature (ex. 105°C)
Important Notes:
Flat panel Television power supply capacitors has 10v installed on the board and it is attached to a 12v bus which is causing to bulged.

Look at the bad capacitor and get the right information from it, remember uF, voltage and temperature. Mine, I only change 2 capacitors. It needed two 2200 uF, when I first saw my power supply it was really easy to spot the bad caps. Some Samsung LCD owners did went ahead replace all the capacitors on the power supply to make sure. Now if you’re like me, an inexperience solder, I would not recommend changing all the capacitors because to me it was time consuming for a noob(newbie) like me ^_^.

Few things to take note, always make sure you have the right polarity. Negative part is where the colored stripe on the capacitor.
But if otherwise, the power supply board is bad, you can try websites, to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Hope this helpout...

I have a LG MU-42PZ90V that was given to me. I found one bad fuse. When you turn the power on it flickers from orange to green then shuts off. I was just checking a few things and noticed that it has...

On this model you must replace the power supply if the blown fuse was on the power supply, but the main cause for LG failure is the Y_Substain Board assembly. When measureing the voltage of the Large Capacitors, this is the primary side to the main supply, you must measure the caps form hot ground, on the AC side of the Standby transformer for correct Voltage, 66V is to low. Look at the side of the Lrg Capacitors for their voltage ratings, the Supply voltage to these should be some what near this voltage but never higher. The Y_Substain board is to the left of the power supply standing in back of the unit. Its possible its just the Y_Board gone bad, but in my experience the you should replace them both.

JVC AV-36D502: Input #3 doesn't work

Good day sir, its a different issue, about the capacitor, for as long as your replacement part is correct, it will work, now, there are several things you should check, the I/O device that controls the inputs of the TV, usually an IC, check your schematic diagram to trace the fault. check also the line from the input 3 to the controller IC on your diagram. Measure the voltage across the IC Vcc to ground if the IC is getting the right power, Low voltage can be cause by faulty capacitors, on the power supply line, or the IC itself is faulty, Circuit analysis and voltage measurements are needed to trace the faulty part. hope this helps thanks.

No power

Sounds like you have a capacitor problem. You need to open the dvd player up and check all the capacitors located on the power board.Make sure it is unplugged and be careful. There will still be some charge inside the unit.

Microwave repair, 6 year old White-Westinghouse WW1000

High voltage parts: Capacitor, Diode, Magnatron are suspect. Need to put a voltmeter on the input (primary) side to the high-voltage transformer (big heavy iron thing in there) Should be getting 120Vac when it goes to cook cycle. Don't touch the other (high voltage) side of this transformer. If the power is there, you are looking at replacing either the magnatron or the high-voltage capacitor and diode. Its affordable if you do it yourself - buy the part on EBAY - lookup "universal magnatron"
Hope ya fix it!
