Question about Polaroid FDM0700A Under the Counter 7 LCD TV with DVD Player Television

1 Answer

I have a Polaroid 7" TV with DVD player. I have sound for the radio & DVD player , but not the TV. If I put the audio volume up all the way there's static, so I can't even do that. The picture is clear. Any suggestions?

TV audio output vastly different for satellite feed versus DVD feed. Why?

It is possible there are separate sound level functions for the DVD player, the tv and the satellite box, try the different remotes for each by unlocking the volume control on the satellite remote until you get them close or use the device specific remote volume controls. I would also try and use HDMI if available for the DVD instead of composite. If the volume controls are different it will show on the tv, might also go through all audio settings for each device. Some devices are pre-amped or send out strong sound signals while others are line level outputs designed to be amped by the output device, in this case your tv I believe. The HDMI vs stereo audio that goes with composite may be the cause or it could be in the settings of the device. Worst case is to remember to drop volume before you switch back so you don't ruin speakers.

No volume on the cable tv setting?

Does the set have a earphone jack? if dirty or damaged it will cut the TV sound out---about the only other possible reason is a audio problem in the TV itself---if possible put ear up to speaker to see if any sound or buzz is heard.

The radio works and plays fine but if i put a dvd or cd in no volume the dvd does play though just no volume

Are you running the audio through an amplifier? If so, it sounds like you are using the blue wire (power antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on). The power antenna remote turn on turns off when leaving tuner mode, turning the amp off.

Audio Issue

You may have tried this, but when you hook up audio out from TV to audio in on reciever, did you try the different input options for the reciever. Often times, audio in is an aux1 or aux2 setting on the receiver. If it is working with the DVD player, it is functional, you just have to get the wires hooked up and get the reciever on the correct setting. Also, even if you have TV audio out correctly configured to audio in AND on the correct input setting, the TV volume will have to be UP as well as the receiver volume. NOT ALL THE WAY UP (you'll blow your speakers), but up about 25% for you to hear it.
