Question about JVC GY-HD100E Mini DV Digital Camcorder

2 Answers

Do you know anything about the JVC - GY-X2...my dad bought this brand new back in 1985 I beleive it was and he gave me this camera last week so I can film my 2 sons football games. I bought a new battery belt for it but for some reason when I try to record with it I only gets audio (mono) and I do not get any video. I have set the camera according to the manual so I dont think it is a setting but I really am hoping it is. My dad used this a few months back before the batteries died and had no problems with it at all but he is 85 years old and he said he's not sure if he is remembering all the settings correctly...do you know if this could be simply a setting? It's 32 years old - I'm amazed anything works on it. Have you looked in the manual ?

SOURCE: New JVC Everio MG 130

Hi, to set the time or date, first press the MENU button (beside the DIRECT DVD button). Nudge the joystick to the left to select which settings you want to edit. Then go up until you reach the general options. Nudge the joystick right. Move the joystick up until you see "CLOCK ADJUST". Here you can set the correct time. The light is really easy to access. In the shooting mode (where you are seeing live video from the lense), nudge the joystick down. The light should come on. Nudge it down again to put it on Auto. It will turn on/off depending on the lighting. Nudge it down a third time to turn it off. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: JVC GY-HD110U won't turn on with battery power only AC power.

There is an issue with the a small yellow part of the AC plug breaking off in the camera. The camera thinks it's still plugged in, so it won't run on the battery. If you can get a small tool to fit into the inlet you can break the piece up and pull the parts out. I haven't had any luck with it, but read others doing it.

The gy-hm100 can record to sdhc media up to 32gb in each slot (total 64gb). For best performance you must use class 10 sd cards. Your camera may need updated firmware that enables class 10 support so check the JVC Pro website and follow the firmware instructions if you haven't done so already. Also, make sure your card is formatted and unlocked with plenty free space. 4 gb is not much at all and a card that size may not be of sufficient speed to operate correctly in the gy-hm100.

Pixel

the camera have a service menu that fixed it

first you must be in 24p mode for this operation

press and holding simultaneous the focus assist button(the one on the camera body)and the menu/status button for at least 5 seconds.

you see and advanced menu where the second line says CAMERA 1.

move the cursor down and push the shutter wheel to enter that menu and now you have a list with the six item being PIXEL COMPEN.

move down and select that item, the word CANCEL blinks.

change it to EXECUTE and push again. it takes about 10 seconds or so to perfom the operation and then tells you to power off the camera.

YOU ARE DONE!!
