try adjusting the size, see if it changes the result and go from there, you might also want to ask other experts, sewing machines are not my speciality.

Singer 4530- stitch length adjustment not working. How do I fix?

Since you indicated the machine has been cleaned and lubed, that is probably not the problem unless the stitch length lever is sticky or the feed dogs are hanging up somewhere. Suggest perhaps directing heated air from a handheld hair dryer into the internal mechanics (focus on the stitch selector lever and the feed dog mechanics) and see if that loosens anything.

I have a singer 2868c i cannot get the stitches to lenghten from a tight stich how di i change the length?

The stitch length lever/dial should control that for you. Consult your owner's manual. If it is not changing the stitch length even though you've adjusted it, then it probably needs service.

The auto stitch isn't working. Also, when I use the Qbot to do a linear design, the stitches are minuscule. Changing the stitch length or speed makes no difference.

The stitch length adjustment may be stuck. You need to manually loosen so the stitch adjustment can work properly. This may require you to open the top lid to locate.

How do I get the stitch length to be consistent? It changes with speed

consistent stitch length depends primarily on tension settings. there are 2 different tension settings on all machines. 1. upper thread tension. 2. bobbin thread tension. since these work together to create the correct stitch length+width, having either of these adjusted inappropriately can significantly impair stitch quality. "knowing' your machine has a lot to do with knowing how tight or loose the tension should be for BOTH settings. the settings will be different for each type of stitch, for each type of needle used, and for each type of thread used, meaning tensions will need to be re-adjusted after each change. in other words, the setting for a medium-width zig-zag with a size 10 needle using mercerized cotton thread to sew light-weight canvas will be completely different than the settings for a regular straight stitch using a size 8 ball tip needle using polyester thread to sew silky lingerie material.

The machine isn't making stitches. It's threaded correctly. I have been sewing leather recently and it's been acting up since then. I have cleaned the bobbin area. And have adjusted the tension...

Hello

Adjust the Stitch Length;

To make longer stitches, set the stitch length to a higher number. On many sewing machines, four is the longest possible stitch length and two is average.

To make shorter stitches, set the stitch length to a lower number. At a zero, the sewing machine may not actually make stitches, since the needle will go up and down in one place.

Cut a small scrap of fabric, preferably the same type you want to sew with.

Sew a few test stitches on the scrap. Examine the stitches to make sure they're the length you want.

Adjust the stitch length again as needed.

How do you adjust the stitch length on Consew 226 R-1?

if it is like the other industrial machines I've used, here is the general principle:

On the machine there is a button with no label. Hold button while turning the handwheel toward you. When you feel the button depressl you can adjust the length. Hold the button in the machine and crank the hand wheel back to decrease the length of ths titch and foward to increase it. I usually put a notch on the fly wheel for my standard length with some nailpolish. Release the button and sew to test the length.

Make sure the feed dogs are dropped (or feed dog cover is on - I can't remember which way this machine works). The stitch length on the machine has no function so ignore it. (I set it to zero so the machine doesn't have to work as hard). Hopefully this is all that's wrong. If not, use a shorter setting for the stitch length on the regulator, oil the hook and move slowly and smoothly.
Good luck!
