Question about Zoom X6 (5590) DSL Modem (55900003)
Hi Welcome to Fixya.
If the DSL light blinks , it means your DSL connection is not active or your DSL link is not working. The modem is trying to find a link, the reason why the DSL LED is blinking, If the link is established then DSL LED will be steady. And Internet LED also will work. To find and fix the issue you will need to contact your ISP(Internet Service Provider). They will come and check both end also the link in their system.
Hope you got my suggestion. For further help please stay connected with us.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

If the internet light is red, it means that the modem cannot get an ip connection from the ISP.
If your ISP has a PPPOE connection, most likely, the PPPOE password is not correct.
To ensure your settings, access the modem through a web browser. In the address bar, type 192.168.1.1.
Default Username: admin
Default Password: password
If this doesn't work, try admin for the username and password. If still doesn't work, you will need to reset the modem. Just hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Then turn it off for 1 minute.
Try again to access the modem, under Configuration, click Edit beside My Connection. Type your ISP username and password then Save.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

The DSL light is your actual connection light - the broadband/internet light indicates information about your logon status.
So a flashing DSL means you do not Have Sync, which means no Broadband!
Switch Router off
Change the filter
Do not use extensions - use the master socket
Change the DSL cable from your telephone socket to your router
If still a flashing light - your BB has not been provisioned yet, or their is a line fault. If you have a telephone connected lift the receiver and listen - are their noises, pops and crackles? If so then call your voice telephone provider - its a PSTN fault.
If no noises, do you have any other digital equipment connected, Satalite, Cable, Fax machine? If so remove them. and restart the router.
If you still have no success - then call your BB provider and tell them your router is not syncing... make sure you have paid your bill :D

SOURCE: flashing dsl light
The DSL light flashing on the modem is natural for it means the device is synchronizing. But if the DSL light continues to flash, you have to wait a while before connecting, it shouldn't take more than a minute. If it does, you may need to contact your service provider because that is uncommon whether there is active Internet connection or none.
