Drain the gas out. There's probably a feul line on the bottom of the tank. Pull that off and drain the fuel into a coffee can or something. Burning that fuel shouldn't hurt anything immediately. It'll just smoke from burning that oil in the fuel. But eventually it will clog you exhaust and gum up other parts. Hope this helps

I need to get weed eater gas out of my lawn mower then fix what damage its caused... any ideas on how to do this?

So you put 2 cycle gas in a 4 cycle engine... here's what u do. First obviously is to flush the fuel system.... by the way, the 2 cycle mix won't kill your mowers engine, it will affect the carburetor mostly... that's gonna be your main point of focus. Remive it, and take it apart and clean it well, use gum out or any carburetor spray and use it generously. If you have an air compressorthis is a plus.

If you can find it, get some LAWN MOWER TUNE UP... made by the same people who make PB BLASTER... stuff is great for cleaning cyclinders and preventing rings from sticking etc.

When you eventually start your mower up again, it's gonna smoke a bit, but will eventually dissipate.

What type of gas to use in a craftsman edger 358.773110

FUELING ENGINE This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline must be mixed with a good quality 2-cycle air*cooled engine oil. We recommend Craftsman brand oil. Mix gasoline and oil at a ratio of 40:1 (A 40:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 3.2 ounces of oil with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline). DO NOT use automotive oil or boat oil. These oils will cause engine damage. When mixing fuel, follow instructions printed on container. Once oil is added to gasoline, shake container momentarily to assure that the fuel is thoroughly mixed. Always read and follow the safety rules relating to fuel before fueling your unit.

Problem:gasoline mixes with engine oil on 6hp. Craftsman lawn mower.

Hard starting? excessive choking caused by excessive cranking, try a tuneup, beware of Gas in the
oil, it will thin the oil out and result in the engine throwing a rod or seizing

My Lawn mower seems to be produced by ALKO, but has the Briggs and Stratton emblem also. It is the 40b model and having just inherited it, I am trying to find out if I put just petrol in or whether I need...

Hi scottcoles5...
The easy way to find out if the motor is 2 or 4 cycle is to check to see if the engine has oil in the crankcase...if it does it is a 4 cycle and you will NOT have to mix oil with your gas. 2 cycle engines do NOT have an oil in the crancase and depend on the oil you mix with your gasoline.
You can also check the color of the gasoline in the tank, most 2 cycle oils contain a colorant to color the gas to let you know there is oil in the gas...

Does the recycler use gas or a gas oil mixture

Your recycler mower is either gas or electric (as you may know). The gas models use straight gasoline. You do not mix oil with the fuel.

I have MTD Yard machine and don't know if it is 2 or 4 cycle. Oil should be-SAE30. Can I use oil for 4-cycle which they soid me i Can. Tire.(M otomaster)

If your mower has seperate fill caps for the oil and the gasoline, then you have a 4 cycle or 4 stroke engine. In this case use SAE HD30 motor oil. If there is only 1 fill cap and it says oil & fuel mix, then you have a 2 cycle or 2 stroke engine.
Good luck

Oil change

STOP !

Your lawn mower is has a 4 cycle engine
It does not require oil to be mixed with the gas
The oil for the crankcase should be a 10W-30 or 10W- 40
NO GAS IN THE OIL
What you have is a 2 cycle oil that is mixed with gas for most weed eaters, chain saws, ect
Putting a gas/oil mix in your mower WILL severely damage it destroying the main bearings and could lead to an explosion or fire.
Please be careful

The term "Unleaded gas only" refers to the type of gasoline to be used. You would use "Unleaded gasoline" instead of "Leaded gasoline". Yes, you will mix oil with the gas normally at a ration of 50 to 1. (1 pint of oil to 6 gallons of "Unleaded Gasoline"). If you do not put oil into your gasoline, you will burn your engine up due to lack of oil. I hope this helped, Good Luck Please rate me, Thanks
