Dyson DC25 -wand extension lost a spring and becomes disconnected during use. I don't know where spring should be?

The button you push to release the wand has a spring to allow it to spring back after the button has been released. If that spring is missing the wand will not stay attached.

Change springs on garage door

It's is straight forward. Select a replacement spring with the same tension color as the original spring. The color is applied to one of the hooks. Above all thread the safety wire through the center of the spring.

I have the same issue. Just tore into it and found the return spring on the transmission idler pulley is broken. Without the spring the idler pulley arm keeps the belt engaged and wheels turning. The spring is attached to the idler arm just below the belt pulley. Looks like the trans has to come out to get to the spring. I just found the P/N for the spring. Garage door does not open. goes up about 4 inches. disconnected from opener and still can't open. checked wheels in frame move by hand. opener works when not attached to door.

You probably have a broken torsion spring. If you have a spring on a shaft above the door (usually 2 if it is a double door) then you have a torsion spring. From this shaft you have a 2 cables wound on a drum going down to the bottom of the door. If it is a single door, then this cable will be loose. If you have a double door, then most likely one spring is broken. This allows the door to open slightly, until one side is trying to lift(good spring) and the other side cannot (broken spring) Unless you are an EXTREMELY CONFIDENT DIYer then you should leave this do a door repairman as winding a torsion spring is dangerous, and can break bones or even kill. Now if your door has extension springs on each side of the track, with a pully and cable, then these can easily be replaced yourself. Check that cables are connected to the springs and the door and that one didn't break or come loose or cable off pully and binding.

How does the spring attach to the pull cord after you get it wound back up?

The outer spring should attach to the cord spool in a recess or post. Wedge it to keep it from unwinding, attach the inner cord end and thread it around the spool until nearly wound. Feed it out of the cord port and pull the cord out which winds the spring some more. Make sure the cord can reach full extension without binding the spring (don't let go of the cord!!), clamp the cord with locking pliers, and fit the handle. Melt the cord ends to prevent the knots from pulling out and be sure the cord turns the engine in a CCW direction when pulled!!! Hope this helps!

Replace starter rope spring part no 545008013 on the poulan p3416 chain saw. How to get the spring coil seated in the housing, and then get the starter rope part on top of it.

Hook the spring at the inner mount, then wind the spring CCW until the spool assembly can be attached to the outer spring, then continue to wind the spool until the spring is about half-tight or so. It must be able to wind about three or four turns more without becoming 'bound' which would lock the spool and not permit return of the cord. When the spring is wound, wedge it so that the cord can be attached, the work the cord around the spool so that the outer end will only project beyond the cord port a little way. Pull the cord out to make sure that the spring doesn't bind at full extension, the apply locking pliers to the cord to be able to attach the handle. Melt the cord ends to prevent the knots from pulling out. Hope this helps!

Long drive belt cant remember how to put spring back on

The 'j' hook hooks over the transaxle and just hangs there. The spring attaches to the stabilizer rod (reference # 43) and the other end attaches to the "j' hook hanging on the left axle.
