HP3940 Deskjet shows door open message when doo is closed and power light is blikning. Heads parked in ready to print position (left side). Tried power reset as recommended by HP trouble shooting? Need help!

    The switch is active as the carriage moves to the center with the door open and then back to the raeady to print position (left) when door is closed. The power light blinks all the time and the message "door open" appears at the top of the print que box. The request to print a test page registers in the print que but does not execute.

Your device is quite an interesting one to use as it is a very effecient machine.
When the door open message displays it is usually as a result of the sensor in the unit which is responsible for detecting the door malfunctioning. Get an expert to service the unit and check for any breakages in the door as this could also make the sensor to malfunction.
Get the unit serviced and leave idle for some days to enable the unit reset itself.

The door switch is still engaged. Open the door and look inside, make sure that nothing is in the way or out from where it's supposed to be, then make sure the door is moving freely and it's well seated (warp it from side to side to be sure) then close it. If the message is still there then the door sensor (a small black switch) is stuck and to fix it you must open the printer and manually reset it.

    As i said all this is caused by a faulty door switch - it's locked in the open door position and you need to release it somehow. Move the door in all positions and make sure its hinges are free then check the lever for the switch - make sure it's touching the sensor.

I can't install my cartridge in my Deskjet 3512.

Turn the printer on.
Load paper into the paper input tray.
Open the cartridge door (located on the front of the printer), look for the recessed area, grab the built in handle (part of the recessed area) and pull forward.
Once the door is open, the cartridges will automatically move to the center position.
To change a cartridge, pull the top, front of the cartridge down, it will move to a 45 deg position. Then just pull out.
Open the new cartridge box, take the cartridge out of the wrapper, pull the tab to remove the tape covering the electrical contacts, (make certain you don't touch the contacts or ink nozzles), install the new cartridge (color on left, black on right), slide it into the holder and press up on the top, back until it latches into place. Then close the door.
The printer will print a test page. Once printed, take the alignment page it printed and put on the scanner glass (corner to top, right, see the guide printed there). Close the scanner lid and press the OK on the control panel. the printer will now align the print heads based on the page it printed. Once done, press OK again. Done.

Ink cartridge light of mt HP Deskjet F380 All-in-One is blinking and an E appears, have tried replacing cartridges and everything, but no result whatsoever.


Please try this solution

Remove the USB cable into the printer and leave the printer on.
Remove all the cartridges.
Close the cartridge door and wait for the INSERT INK MESSAGE to appear.
Disconnect the power cable and from the power source supply.
Move the carriage using your hand from the original position to the other side of the printer and then move it back to original position. Wait for couple of minutes
Reconnect power cord and turn on the printer.
Return all the ink cartridges and close the door. Wait for the calibration process.
Print the test page to check if it working.
Reconnect the USB cable and try to print again.

My CLP-350 Samsung printer only prints black ink on half the page! While the other colours all print perfectly, the black ink prints strong and clear on the right side of the page but as you approach the...

Here is my solution, hope it will solve your problem.

From your post, I believe your CLP-350N printer has enough black toner. The black cartridge is on the far right side of the printer, so the black toner is harder to go to left side of the roller than right side. Everytime we start the printer, it will move some toner of each color to the roller before it shows ready to print.

Because we always use B&W printing when we start the printer, but less Color printing. The result is there are always enough toner on the 3 color rollers, but the black toner is lean on the black roller. When this gets worse, the left side of the black roller may hardly get any toner at all -- so it only print black on the right side fo paper.

Step by step solution
(CAUTION: Never loss balance while tilting printer! You may drop and damage your printer! Hold the printer firmly all the time! Ask someone to help you if needed!)

Here, front of the printer is where you can access the cartridge, back of the printer is where you connect the power cord and USB cable, left is your left, right is your right.

1.Lift the front to keep the printer tilt to its back at about 45 degree
2.Power on printer while it's tilted back, wait untill green light is on
3.Open the front door, red light will be on, then close the door, printer will start up again,wait untill green light is on
4.Repeat step 3 once again, then put the printer back to level position
5.Lift the right to keep the printer tilt to its left at about 45 degree
6.Open the front door, red light will be on, then close the door, printer will start up again, wait untill green light is on
7.Repeat step 6 once again, then put the printer back to level position
8.Print some test page to see if there is any improvement of black print quality.(Hold the printer button for 3-5 seconds, it will print the test page.)

You may try several times and print several pages each time before you finally cure the problem.

After installing re-filled ink cartridges, both color and back & white, the printer message that shows ink level still shows low level ink? How do we resolve?


Try this procedure:
1. Open printer lid so cartridges move to center of carriage.
2. Lift clamp and remove black or color cartridge from the holder.
3. Place cartridge on table with copper contact strip facing you.
4. Carefully place a strip of clear plastic tape over the four contacts on the upper left corner of the cartridge.
5. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position.
6. Open lid and remove cartridge again. Remove tape from left side and place tape over four contacts at upper right corner of cartridge.
7. Reinstall cartridge in printer and close lid. Wait until cartridge returns to parking position again.
8. Open lid again, remove cartridge, remove tape.
9. Reinstall cartridge and close lid.
Printer will now recalibrate. Once the process is complete the ink level meter should be reading full again.

Printer will not print

Remove all the papers from the tray...Power Off the printer and unplug it from the wall jack...Open the Back Door by sliding the latch to the left/right side...thoroughly clean all the rollers (Inside the printer & on the back door) with a soft cloth dipped in warm luke water...Leave it for 5 minutes to dry the rollers...close the back door...Press & Hold the Power button on the printer for 50-60 seconds when it is UNPLUGGED from the Power papers in the tray to the xtreme left hand side..adjust the paper guide...then try printing..

It does not print it tells me the the door is open. And the door is working properly.  The cartridges carrier moves when I open and close the door. I have Vista Bussiness and the downloades software from...

there is a black colour plastic sensor exactly behind the left side of the door and that senson is not in the exact position so it is detecting and giving the message that door open.maybe that sensor is bit moved or it could be slightly broken.or something is blocking that sensor to move please check it.and make it proper to make your printer work properly.

HP 6940 will not print

Turn the printer off
Open the back door and
gently turn the paper roller upward until it clicks. Make sure the door is securely closed. Wait a few more minutes then turn the print back on. I hope this helps.

Will not print / cartridges will not move back and forth

I had this happen to me the other night and I had to restart the printer to get the print job out of the que. You could try that.

While it's restarting, unplug the power cord and the usb cable. That should reset it.

Back door closed

I did not get any error message but the 6940 printer would not print. Instead "Ready" the printer said "door open". When I deleted printer and plugged the usb cable back in the XP machine found the new hardware, said "Ready" and could print.
