SOURCE: need to locate the microprocessor on the fisher

Yep, that is a likely problem, but it could be a blown diode in a relay switch, or etc. etc. If you're lucky, someone will possibly have a repair manual, and schematic. That way, you could reset it, but maybe ohm out a few components further up the on/stand-by circuit while you're in there. Sometimes you get lucky and it's easy, but it can be tricky. I would take digital pics or videos as I went, using macro when necessary. Makes things much easier for me, anyway. You can possibly purchase a schematic, but I couldn't find one online, so if you can get a current tech line, you could probably go that route, but I'm thinkin' big bucks. Here is a blog about your problem, and although there isn't a schematic that I saw, it does identify the components in "stand-by" circuit, as well as the microprocessor.

Gutsy job, but that's the only way to keep them alive, from what I've seen! Good luck!

SOURCE: My fisher amplifier ca-854 switches

Hi,
well could be a few things. It could be the input source. so if you are playing a cassette, try cd or tuner and see if the same happens.
Could be dust in switches so wiggle and push the function selector controls and see if it gets any better or worse.
Could be bad speaker terminations - Try removing speaker cables, re-stripping and re connecting at both amp and speaker end.
Possible dust in the volume pottentiometer so with the power off, move volume up and down franticallly (but gently) from min to max for about 15-30 seconds) to clear out any loose particles.

If these small things should not work, please reply back with anything you've noticed from these tests and I will try and aid you some more

CA-9025 amplifier the out speakers relay doesn'tsw.

It is possible that the error protection is ON and so does not switch on the amplifier to the speaker. Only if the error amplifier which is a current sensing circuit gets a good feedback on normal current drain will the processor be informed for the speaker relay to be switch.
So remove speakers and check, if not the output is faulty. check for short or drain in at least one channel.

Fisher CA-885 Integrated Stereo Amplifier stuck in stand-by mode

Given the heat/cold cycles of the storage area along with humidity, I would first suspect poor solder connections. This is not unusual for units of this age. A general overhaul should restore this to operation. This should be a labor only repair unless the output STK is bad. These units are known for having poor connections at the voltage regulators which cause a DC voltage offset triggering the protection circuit. The overhaul should address this as well.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Need to locate the microprocessor on the fisher ca-9025 stereo amplifier. Need to know where it is and what it looks like. This is so I can repair the problem of the stero not going off stand-by....

Fisher Model CA-270 amplifer. Audio select not working.

When you state that you can not select a device, do you mean that there is no sound, or that the device selection is not happening? A few more descriptive details will help here.

Thanks,

Fisher ca 9025 amplifier

The amp is in protect mode. Something in the final stage is defective. This is usually caused by shorted output transistors. This unit is worth getting repaired. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$50 range.

Fisher ca 9025 amplifier

For those who accidently put thier CA-9025 in standby mode by hitting the timer button and no longer have the remote, I figured out how to turn them back on.

Turn on the power button and press and hold the Tuner button for at least 10 seconds. it should come back on :) Hope that helps.
