Question about Bypass Essentials pkuch2x Immobilizer Override

1 Answer

I have a 98 Town and Country LXi with an engine security problem. Every month or so something is shutting down the fuel pump. Usually I disconnect the battery for 15 minutes, lock and unlock it with the key, or just wait a few minutes. But today I've tried everything and it still won't start. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to it. I bought two keyless remotes with instructions to program them, but that hasn't helped. Chrysler tells me to come in for a computer test for $80 plus most likely a costly repair, or they can re-program something. I would like to just disconnect the security system and be done with it. Can this be done? Other than this it's in great shape.

How do I replace the fuel filter on a Chrysler 1997 town and country 3.8 lxi

  • Relieve the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay from the power distribution center. Start the engine and allow it to run until it stalls. Try to start it again and let it run until it stalls. Repeat this procedure until it no longer will start. Turn the ignition off.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable and raise the vehicle. Support the fuel tank with a transmission jack. Locate the fuel filter on the top of your Chrysler Town & Country fuel tank.
  • Remove the fuel line from the front of the tank and then the ground strap. Next, remove the inboard side of the fuel tank straps and front T-strap fastener. Lower the tank about 6 inches.
  • Detach the fuel lines from the fuel pump module and then remove the fuel filter. Put the new filter in its place. Tighten the fuel filter bolts to 40 inch pounds.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines to the fuel pump module and reposition the tank. Replace the front T strap fastener and tighten it to 250 inch pounds. Put the inboard fuel tank straps back and tighten them to 40 foot pounds.
  • Put on the ground strap and connect the fuel line in the front of the tank. Start the engine of your Town & Country and check for leaks.

Does anyone know where the cigarette lighter fuse is located on a 98 town and country lxi

If everything else is working it may be not fuse at all. Check the lighter's outlet with something else (e.g. phone charger). If that works the problem is in lighter itself.

My 97 town and country chrysler turns on and it shuts down what can the problem be

Someone needs to troubleshoot the problem to find out what is killing the engine.
You are loosing spark to the plugs or fuel pressure or injector pulse.
It could be something as simple as the ASD relay, or as complicated as the computer.
You may need to get a used shop manual to get the test procedures.

98 town and country not starting half of time. Took gas line off at engine; seems not enough gas pressure and gas not getting to engine. Thank you.

Hi, Your engine has to prime a high fuel pressure to start your engine. I would first replace the fuel filter and see if that helps. If not, your fuel pump is failing and needs to be replaced.

Our '98 Town & Country was going down the road and shut off while coasting. We read the engine codes to find out it was saying "P0400" for an Insufficient EGR Flow. So we replaced the EGR...

Check the fuses to make sure its not a blown fuse before you get into it. While the van is in park have someone listen down by the gas tank and turn the key but do not crank the engine if no noise is heard the next course of action is to drop the gas tank and test the fuel pump manually using a battery or jump box. If you still cant get the pump to work replace the pump problem solved.
