One possibility is that it has its jets set for natural gas instead of propane. Some are adjustable, some must be changed out. If you tell us the make and model, we can help you more.

New whirlpool microwave model WMH53521HZ-4, if I enter the wrong length of time on the cook time how do I clear it and enter a different time? On my previous microwave there was a clear/reset button.

On this microwave, you just need to enter the correct cooking time and power level. This will clear the previous time and power level that you entered. (This works since you need to use the Options button to do multi-stage cooking.)

The manual for the Whirlpool WMH53521HZ is available on the product site: https://www.whirlpool.com/kitchen/cooking/microwaves/over-the-range/p.2.1-cu.-ft.-over-the-range-microwave-with-steam-cooking.wmh53521hz.html . Scroll down to the Manuals & Guides section or use the link and expand the section. The current link to the manual is https://www.whirlpool.com/content/dam/global/documents/201705/UserGuide-W11047549-RevA.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have a maytag super capacity plus stove and need to adjust the air mix for the burners. How to do it? Please help thanks

Open the top of the range. I believe there are a couple of spring clips in the front between the range top and the top of the door. Not sure on the Maytag. However, when you get the lid up, (it should be hinged at the back), set the burner pieces back on. (These burner pieces HAVE to be there or you'll just have a blowtorch pointing up!) You'll see that going to every burner there is a tube to carry the gas. on the side of every tube there will be an adjustable, sliding air vent. They are usually held in position by a set screw. Loosen the set screw. Light the burner and carefully slide the vent closed or open to adjust how much air is being brought into the mix. If the flame is way too high and or orange in color....you have too much air. You want as much flame as possible on high without the flame being orange or white-ish. Once you get the flame the way you like it, tighten the set screw back. Hope this helps.

Do you know what the average electric cooktop lifespan is? We have a Kenmore that is 9 years old and working fine. However, we are in the midst of a renovation and are wondering if it wouldn't be wise to...

The life span of the range depends on it's use or abuse.... Common issues are burners and the connections that the burner plugs into. These are not hard to change out.... There is nothing that can make the stove useless, if you keep after it. Newer units do a better job of retaining the heat within the unit, oven wise....Which is nice.

A gas range is certainly nicer, so they say. It is faster, but has one odd issue: if you boil water over, you can put out the flame and have raw gas running in. Most work this way, expensive units have thermal sensors that would turn off the gas flow in flame out condition....

My wife loves her gas range....

All 5 burners are burning orange-yellow flames.

According to this thread:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23696179-Gas-stove-orange-flame
It sounds like it is impurities in your (or more likely your suppliers) gas line. If it goes away but reoccurs semi regularly, then I would guess this is what it is.
If it is happening all the time, or you are concerned about it, call your gas company and ask them about it. I am sure they havve heard of the problem before.
Good Luck!

Hi, got old Eurolec Gas oven/hob. Hob lights up fine. Was cooking in oven all morning, no probs. Tried to light oven for evening meal & gas will not stay lit, goes out once ignitor & temp' dial...

Hi, your thermocouple is faulty, it is the little probe like thingy that sticks up into the pilot flame. It is there for safety purposes, detects flame and holds a valve open magnetically to allow the gas to pass through. Try giving it a clean with a scourer, sometimes works, or your pilot flame is not big enough, could be low on gas or unit needs a service Kristian KJ Tech

I have an Old Sears general Electic gas range and oven. It is used often and on for hours a day. Lately there has been less of a gas flow not allowing the oven to regulate proper temp. Is there a way to...

You should try cleaning the orifice first. Actually before you do that, if you can see the flames on the oven this simple check will determine a cleaning. Turn oven on and look at the flame, if you have propane it should be light blue at the base a little darker blue in the middle and have a little orange tip. If you have natural gas it should be almost all blue with maybe a slight tint of yellow in the center of the flame. If the flame looks like it is almost all orange. It needs to be cleaned. I can assist with the cleaning also, but confirm with this test first. Please rate answer accordingly!! Thank you

When one of the gas hobs is on ,it does not burn with a blue flame but a more yellow one .also black soot forms under the burner plate.it is on lpg

Have to adjust the piolot lights for the amount of gas coming out. U have too much gas coming out(yellow flame). On older gas ranges, there was a small screw between the piolot light & burners that had to be adjusted. (if this is a older model) have to turn the screw just a little at a time, till ur flame returns to blue on ur burners. Hope this helps.
