Hi,

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I have a compaq presario cq56 dependency service

The error you are receiving is indictating one of two things:

a) The Windows Firewall has been disabled

b) The dependency files associated with Windows Firewall are corrupt or missing.

Have you installed any new software lately such as an Antivirus program or a third party firewall?

To deal with (a) do the following:

1. Click Start and in the Search bar type Services

2. When Services appears in Program list right click on it and choose "Run as Administrator"

3. Scroll through list and look for the following entries (they are alphabetically listed):

Windows Firewall
Base Filtering Engine
Windows Firewall Authorization Driver

Note!!! To get to Windows Firewall Authorization Driver you need to right click on Windows Firewall ' choose properties ' click on Dependencies tab

Make certain all are "Started" and while there set ALL to 'Automatic'

Apply changes and reboot computer.

To deal with (b) do the following:

1. Click Start and in search bar type Services

2. When Services appears in Program list right click on it and choose "Run as Administrator"

3. Scroll list to "Windows Firewall"

4. Right click on Windows Firewall and choose "Properties"

5. Click the Dependencies tab

6. Click on each Dependency and ensure no error messages. If there are any errors, follow prompts to resolve.

=====================
Check dependencies exist:
=====================

Dependencies are located here:

C:\Windows\System32

Check there to ensure the files exist. If not you'll need to do a Repair using Windows DVD to replace or install them.

==============================
Another method that may resolve issue:

1. Click Start ' click Control Panel

2. If not all ready doing so, click "View" and select Category

3. Click on the Green writing: "System and Security"

4. Click the Green writing: "Administrative Tools"

6. Scroll down and double click "Windows Firewall"

7. Open "Log on" tab

Windows firewall can not change some of your settings error code 0x8007042c

HI Veera,

This is an error when some crucial Firewall services are not running. Make sure that the following services are running and are set to start automatically:
  • Windows Firewall (MpsSvc)
  • CNG Key Isolation (KeyIso)
  • Base Filtering Engine (BFE)
  • Firewall Client Agent (FwcAgent)
Read the following Microsoft article KB2530126.
The batch file mentioned in "Method 3" can be downloaded here.
Just save the file, unzip it and run the batch file by double-clicking. It will start the services and set them to autostart.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Internet connectivity

TCP/IP network transport not installed

Symptoms: After you run Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) or other anti-virus/spyware/adware software, 1) you may receive one or more of the following interactive error messages:

Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service on Local Computer. Error 10047: An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used.

or

Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service?

or

This application has failed to start because SPORDER.dll was not found.

2) Third-party networking products may not function correctly.

3) Computers may not be able to connect to the network because they cannot obtain an IP address.

4) You may receive the following error message when you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer:

Error 404: Page cannot be displayed.

Cause:

There are known spyware programs that install layered service providers (LSPs) on client computers to gather user data. When Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) removes spyware programs, it also removes the spyware-based LSPs. However, Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) does not restore any LSPs after it removes the spyware.

Firewall settings

This usually happens due to missing or corrupt SharedAccess reg key, which represents the Windows Firewall Service.
Resolution

Download sharedaccess.reg (for Windows XP SP2 only) and save to Desktop. Then double-click the file to merge the contents to the registry. The Services entry will be created. Restart Windows (mandatory step, otherwise the following NETSH command will display an error message).

After restarting Windows, run the following from Command Prompt (cmd.exe)

NETSH FIREWALL RESET

Launch firewall applet from Control Panel, and then configure your Windows Firewall settings.

If nothing helps, as a last-resort solution (before reinstalling Windows XP Service Pack 2), give these two commands a try. Click Start, Run and type:

rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection Ndi-Steelhead 132 %windir%\inf\netrass.inf

Restart Windows, and then run this command (from Command Prompt):

NETSH FIREWALL RESET

Attempt to start Firewall applet. Start the Windows Firewall service if prompted.
