Question about RCA WSP150 Main / Stereo Speaker

1 Answer

Trnsmitter indicates that I am getting a good signal from the audio output-I have a "y" connection for the audio output--- one lead for the computer speakers and one for the RCA Wireless speakers-- I have tried changing the frequency for the transmitter and for the receiver--no luck at all-- I thought that the transmitter was faulty--so I purchased another one-- I did not have this problem with my previous computer--could that be the problem??? I have already looked at the "setup" for the speakers--but that looks ok. I have had this system for more than five years-it worked perfectly. I would appreciate your help-I am at my wits end.

I tried this solution Saturday morning-yesterday--still no luck-no reception.

  • Ken Riina Sep 14, 2010

I have connected the transmitter by itself to the computer-the speakers will only blink--I have two sets of these speakers-I get the same result--I have tried them five feet away & 25 feet away.

  • Ken Riina Sep 14, 2010

That is correct-the speakers will not work-they only "blink"--to indicate that a signal is transmitted-but not strong enough.
I presently have four speakers and they all are the same.

  • Ken Riina Sep 14, 2010

It is a RCA WSP 150-There is a Frequency control for the transmitter and a frequency control for each speaker-there is also a volume control for each speaker.
I have "played" with the frequency control for each speaker as well as the frequency control on the transmitter-

    NO LUCK.

The system is a RF 900MHZ Stereo Wireless Speaker System RCA Model WSP150--

The transmitter only has a frequency control-no volume control.

Try with the Y connector connected and connect for an instance just the wireless speakers and check if it's working. The other instance is to connect at the Y connector just the wired speakers and check if it's working. Report me the results because I have a suspision.
I'll be back on line in half an hour, don't worry.

Have you tried the speakers set one by one at the computer? Are they working without the Y connector?

So, since the wireless speakers are not working by themselves, I came to the conclusion that there is no problem with the connections and the Y adaptor but with the wireless speakers. We have to this part of the system. Is my thought right?

Have you check the possibility of having two volume controls? I mean one at the transmiter and one at the speakers? You mentioned that the brand is RCA, what is the model?

I made a quick search from buyers side for your speakers and I located many people that have various problems with these speakers.... Anyway, since they are working at the band of 900MHz, is there any possibility of interference from another wireless device (baby monitor, wireless phone e.t.c.)? The automatic level control (ALC) circuitry of the speakers may cause these problems in case of interference.

I do have a lg BH6430P home theatre, when I connect the HDMI to the TV it gives me no signal

check that the hdmi lead is good, if it is check that its outputting a signal that is not too high for the tv. i.e. if the lg is outputting 1080p can your tv show 1080p just because the tv is HD ready, doesnt automatically mean it can show 1080p try setting the lg to 720p or lower to see if anything shows on the tv

Monitor states No signal. this is a new computer, just today

Make sure you are connecting the monitor signal lead to the correct signal output on the rear of the machine. Some desktops have extra video out connectors when they have a graphics card fitted. If yours has a graphics card the display connector will be away from the back USB ,audio and keyboard ports and near to some silver pop out panels near the bottom of the tower.

I have an 02 kia sportage. my signal lights come on but dont blink outside. no lights for the signal lights come on on the dash at all. also, no hazard lights.

If the 15A HAZARD fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box is OK, power is getting to the hazard function of the flasher unit. Pressing the hzard switch should cause the hazard lights to flash. HOWEVER, there is an electronic time and warning indication system module connected to to the hazard switch lead and that may be affecting things. If the 10A TURN fuse is OK, power is applied to the turn switch (with the engine in START or RUN) and you state you can select a right or left turn. HOWEVER, the RED/WHT and RED/BLU outputs from the flasher unit connect directly to the front and rear turn lamps and the instrument cluster turn indicators so you are not getting any flasher output. Again, that electronic time & warning indication system module could be affecting things

Marantz audio amp. How to set quiescent current on output transistors

Hi, quiescent current is set with a diode string located far away from the output transistor high miller compensation cap values used, quasi-complementary (of course), lots of non-linear, single-transistor gain stages here and there.
That's all i can remember about it...
Take care

Can this unit be connected to my computer so I can make cd's?

It can if your computer has a 3.5mm jack audio imput.
What you need to have on your unit is and audio out socket. But if it doesn't have one you can use the headphone output. Then all you need is a lead. If you have the output sockets you just need a 3.5 jack to two RCA phono plugs one. If not you will need a 3.5 to 3.5 lead.
If using the headphone output, keep the volume low, use the computer recording device to adjust the signal level. NEVER turn the volume up high. Again if you are using the headphone output set tone controls to neutral, otherwise you will have either too much bass or treble on your recordings.
You can use the computer speakers to monitor the sound. Or you can get a headphone adapter plug that will allow to jacks to go into the headphone output of your unit, so you can connect a pair of headphones, but as I said don't mess with the volume control.

I have an LG LCD TV (LG 37LG5000 37IN). I also have an older DVD Home Theatre System (SONY DAV-DZ100). It seems that the surround system works well with DVDs but I cannot get the sound to work with DIGITAL...

It works fine if you plug the surround system SCART lead into the AV2 input. I believe this is a 'smart' scart plug (same as SONY but it is not mentioned as in the literature). The AV1 is only good for inputs NOT outputs as well.
