Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Console
If it just a single disc problem it could be because the disc is out of region. By that I mean that the disc may be for any other region besides the United States which is region code 1. All US Xbox's will only play Region 1 discs. If it will not play any discs it sounds like an E74 error or disc drive error and your disc drive will need to be replaced. If you xbox is still in warranty the best solution is to send it into Microsoft for repair, if it is out of warranty or you just dont want to wait n the 4 week turnaround, you can just find someone knowledgeable in replacing the drive. The DVD drives in all xbox consoles are normal computer drives and run from a sata cable so replacement drives are easy to come by. Just make sure the person you have do it know how to properly replace it without getting you banned by Microsoft through xbox live. If you have any other questions, by all means send me an email. I worked for Microsoft for 2 years as a repair tech and I am very knowledgeable in Xbox issues.
