Question about Intermatic & Indoor/Outdoor Rain Tight Timer

1 Answer

I've got an Intermatic T104 (240v). It's been running fine for years.\r\n\r\nThe other morning, I noticed the pump not running. I checked the timer. \r\n The timer wheel was jammed against the Off tripper tab. I removed the On/Off tabs and set the timer wheel to 12:00. I checked the gear movement in the view port and they were turning. I checked the timer wheel a couple of hours later and found it was showing 10:00. I recycled the power. No change. I measured voltages and Line reads 224vac and switching the manual on/off to on, the Load reads 224vac. The timer seems to be keeping good time, just backwards. There have been no other electrical problems in/around the house/pool. Any ideas? regards, dale Houston, TX

Maybe the jammed pin tore up the plastic gears on the timer clock. You can buy the clock for around $16

Buy a new T104 or T104R (rain tight) at Lowes or Grainger ... and swap mechanisms without changing box

Can't get timer to work. Wires R red, blue, green. Is red hot, blue neutral?

You should've fixed your Intermatic timer for $20 with new clock motor or trippers.

GE 15306 is 120Volt timer.
You probably have 240Volt power to pump.

Copy following links to help solve problem, and repair the Intermatic timer so you can return the GE for refund at Home Depot.

Hi - My Intermatic T101P3 timer motor stops after it turns off the pool pump. I have one start and one stop time in a 24 hr period. I have to manually start the pump at the timer in the morning,...

Sounds like the clock leads are on the wrong posts, or at least the hot one is. If if was moved to the load side then manually starting the timer will also power up the clock motor. As soon as the clock trips the off timer, the pump and the clock motor are both off. Examine the clock leads to the wiring diagram inside the clock box cover to ensure they are connected correctly. I bet you'll find one of the wires is misplaced.

I returned from vacation last night and noticed all four of my coach lights were off. I thought...the timer needs to be reprogrammed due to a power outage while I was away. The red indicator light was...

1) You performed correct troubleshoot steps down the line.
Last thing would be to install defect timer on another light circuit in house, and see if problem is the timer or wire going to coach lights.

2) EJ351C has 1 year limited warranty.
Buy new EJ351c and install single pole light switch until timer replacement is available.
Timer has easy 2-wire installation. Turn off power. Connect new timer just like old one was connected. Either timer black wire connects to either wire in switch box.

Intermatic t104p3 pool timer will turn pump ""ON" with Manual Switch but will not shut "OFF" using Manual Toggle. Pool store showed me how to remove and look at the contacts on...

Thank you for including model number so answer can be accurate as possible.

T104P3 timer works with manual override so timer is basically sound.
Clock dial rotates and keeps good time, so WG1573 240Volt clock motor is good.
Trippers do not click on-off lever, so trippers are suspect.
Trippers are made to wear down so that timer mechanism lasts years longer.

Once T101 Timer Shuts Off will not turn back on

you have the hot and load reversed. the power source should connect to terminal 1. the wire going on to the pool pump should be hooked to terminal 2.

the clock motor is powered off terminal 1 and A is the neutral.

what u have done is hooked the power source to #2 and the load to #1, simply switch them and everything should be fine, here is a link to the wiring diagram for the timer.
