dont know why that would have happened in an update? something else must have happened. MS updates do not cause those type of problems. what PC do you have, what was happening when this happened. you can reinstall google, the folders for favorites should still be on computer unless you were using Chrome and deleted it somehow. If so, then you may be lost...if using internet explore then
the favorites are still there. since you said 'bookmarks' you probably using Google Chrome. If deleted somehow, then you may be in trouble. You can reinstall from web BUT your bookmarks, may be gone. sign in to chrome after reinstalling and your email will still be there-you may have to find all your bookmarks again though. knowing what happend, what you were doing would make answering this easier.
It depends on the browser and device. For instance on ipad in chrome you would go to the 3lines on the right of your address bar tap on it tap on bookmarks then tap edit .if you tap on the "x" you delete, if you tap on the icon you can rename your bookmark. Then save and you're done.
on a pc you click on bookmarks/favorites choose the one you edit , right click on the bookmark and either rename or delete.
Depending on the browser you are using, it should work like this.
Go to gmail.com.
In Internet Explorer go to "Favorites" (Star) and then "Add to Favorites"
In Google Chrome clck on the last icon on the address bar (Three lines). Then "Bookmarks" to open the drop down. Then "Bookmark this Page".
Bookmarks are used in Mozilla Firefox, Opera & Google Chrome browsers. Internet Explorer uses Favorites. In Internet Explorer you just click browse to the webpage you want to save as a favorite then click Favorites, then click Add To Favorites and a popup window will appear with an option to create a new folder. In Mozilla Firefox browse to the page you want to bookmark, then click Bookmarks, then click Bookmark This Page. A popup window appears and you can select the drop down arrow next to Unsorted Bookmarks or the Gray Arrow just to the right of the unsorted bookmarks arrow. Both of these arrows are for folders and when you select either one you will see an option for a New Folder. In Opera browse to the webpage you want to bookmark, then click Opera at the top of the in the left hand corner and it will expand giving you options. Click Bookmarks, then click Bookmark Page and a popup window will appear allowing you to create a New Folder. In Google Chrome click on the wrench in the right hand corner at the top of the browser window. Then click Bookmarks, then Bookmarks Manager. When Bookmarks Manager opens you will see it has an Organize option, and when you click it you will see an Add Folder option. But the Add Folder option will be grayed out and unusable unless you highlight one of the folders already existing under the Bookmarks column.
Click on the wrench, and then click bookmark manager. Looking at the top right corner it should say other bookmarks' click on that and a list should come down, then choose from your favourites, if you want to add favourites click the star above the 'other bookmarks'
If you want to manually import your favorites from other browsers to Chrome.
1. Open Google Chrome 2. Click on the "Wrench" icon in the upper right corner. 3. Select "Import bookmarks & settings..." 4. Microsoft Internet Explorer should already be selected, but if not, select it in the drop-down menu. 5. Select the options that you want imported. 6. Click the "Import" button
Chrome will then import all the settings you requested.
If you can open Google Chrome you can go to the bookmarks and drag those to a new folder or your desktop. This will create a icon and when you click on it, it will open your favorites.
OR
Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar. Mac users: If you don't see the wrench icon, go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and clickBookmarks.
