Thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist.

There are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this issue:

Try a PMU Reset:
* Turn of your iMac if it is already turned off
* Disconnect all connections to the iMac except the power cord
* Now disconnect the power cord for approximately 20 seconds
* Reconnect just the power cable the keyboard, mouse and power cord, and then power your iMac G5 up.

* Check to see if the iMac boots up normally without power interruption.

* If the iMac G5 shuts off again, try these steps, another recommendation would be to remove all connections including the power cord, and lay the iMac G5 on soft cloth face down and with a philips screwdriver, remove the plate on the bottom of the iMac G5 where your RAM memory is located.
Before removing the RAM however, touch your hand on the metal boot to discharge any static current you carry for approximately 5 seconds.

Now remove each RAM card and then reseat (re-install) each card.

Restore the RAM card cover with your Philips screwdriver, reconnect your power cable, keyboard an
d mouse and turn on your iMac G5.

See if this second procedure helps if the first procedure does not work.

Let me know if this helps.

Regards

My mac power g5 keeps shutting down and i have to wait about 30 mins to have it come on whats wrong

Clear case of overheating. There are simple two simple things to try first, to see if they resolve the problem.
1) Check if all the fans are running. If they are not then resolder the fan contacts if they are broken/loose
2)Overheating due to dust. When dust accumulates in the heatsinks it tends to cause the system to heat up. The easiest fix for this is to take a can of compressed hair and empty it on them to blow off the dust.
If the above fixes do not work, just let me know before you leave me a bad ratingso that we can try something else. Bad rating =No further help!

My PowerPC keeps shutting down unexpectedly, any time it wishes, most annoying. Screen turns grey from top down then message appears telling me to reboot, Mac has shut down unexpectedly. Messages refer...

Sometimes this can be caused with memory problems Reseat the memory by switching off the G5 then take out the memory and replace it back. It could be that it is slightly loose. Hope this helps.

Kirby G5 vacuum

check the cord. see if there are any frays. or broken spots. usually it is one of 3 things. 1, faulty electric cord. 2. the attachment or floor nozzle not being properly attached( kind of a duh issue LOL)
3. a faulty switch assy. the switch can be kind of a bear to replace. I hope it is the cord. if not i would take it to a kirby repair person, because it is very easy to damage the motor assy when replacing a kirby switch. trust me i have damaged a few learning how to do it

I'm not familiar with Kirby vacuums, but press your reset button a few times (if you have one). If that does not work, then it is most likely the switch. For a rough estimate of the switch or parts for your vacuum, please refer to Sears Parts website and have your model number ready.
