I need to temporarily remove the board itself from the wall to facilitate access to cables behind the board. The board is a fixed wall mounted unit as opposed to the height adjustable version. I have experience working with SMART boards. Regards

As far as I can determine the board is an AC2 Activeboard (second generation) , approximately 3 years old.

Board is currently sitting on 2 mounts underneath unit, which are screwed to the wall. This would suggest that a very simple locking system is located near the top of the board, possible concealed by a clip on plastic cover which when removed would allow the board to be lifted upwards and then off. I would prefer to have a general idea of how this operates efore proceeding rather than risk the possibility of damaging anything.

Thanks for link to installation assembly, however this is for a height adjustable model as opposed to the "Fixed" wall mounted type. The actual white-board in your link appears to be the same as the one that I am dealing with.

There are 2 small steel brackets fixed to the wall underneath the board (board sits on these) Do you have access to any other instruction sets? Thanks again

Thanks for reply but none of the links mentioned refer to the situation where the board is installed directly to the wall. It is pretty evident that Promethean don't want to make these instructions widely available.

I am assuming you are having the ActiveBoard which works with the Active Inspire 2 software.

Do you have the model no. of the ActiveBoard eg. ActiveBoard 100 etc?

My impression is that it will be very hard to get the installation instructions as the company only promotes its authorised installers.

Please provide the model no. so that I can try some resources.

The way these boards are mounted can be viewed in this document. Looks like close to what you may have.

    Hope this helps.

  • Sam Sep 14, 2010

The only other one I can find is a fixed version ActivBoard and has the tracks as shown (scroll to later part of doc).

Hope this gives you some idea. General info is available through this website but I am unable to get anything specific on installation.

If this helps please accept the solution otherwise post a comment and I will see if there is anyting else that is closer to your need.

It might be a matter of taking out the edge covers starting with the top corners and then looking behind the board. Usually a slight lift up from the bottom edge and then pull away from the wall. I am assuming the connections are terminated in a box next to the board.

Are you wanting to remove the software, or the hardware? Its not recommended to remove the software without assistance from IT in corporate or educational environments.

There is a manual available, but it may not match your specific mount. Goto the knowledge base, and look in the "latest articles" for TP1800 ABMS Installation Instructions. If you don't see it, then search for article #313988.

What's the feature of an interactive whiteboard

Interactive whiteboards are mainly used to improve quality of the education in classrooms. The use of interactive whiteboard allows instructor to alter the different information present in the board which can even be copied and transferred to the next slide. The data that is present in the board can be clicked on, moved, copied and analyzed. The interactive whiteboard also allows the teacher to write like the any other whiteboard but it also turns the handwritten notes into texts which can be later referred to at any moment of urgency.

Panasonic interactive whiteboard won't project computer

If you'd like to email me at I'll be able to help you in more detail. There's a fundamental error to the question here. That is the board in itself will not show the image - your boards is effectively a large flat mouse. A pointing device infact. The peice of equipment that "shows" your PC image is actually the projector. There could be several reasons why your projector isn't showing the image.
1 - is there either a VGA or HDMI cable connected from your laptop/PC to the projector (Sometimes via a wall plate).
2 If 1 is true and the projector is turned on does it show any sort of image? Now there are two thongs you can do from here. a) If you have a laptop check to see if your Video settings are set to clone across to a secondary monitor on most laptops you should hold down Function key and F8 this will toggle through three options Onboard screen remote screen and then both. there could be some lag between the two so hold down fucntio at the same time press F8 then wait a few seconds then go again.
Finally on you projector remote there may be an auto search buttion which will hunt for your PC image by checking each of the Projector inputs in turn. Generally speaking however you should select "Computer 1" or sometimes named as RGB 1

Hope that helps email me if your still having problems.

We have several SMART boards and have always looked to Smart technologies for support. The cables and software are available through the website. It will require you to use a projector, either of your own, or one of theirs. The place to start is:

When the Polyvision Click Eno pen cap is left off for a length of time it appears to require recalibration. Is this the case?

No, the eno board shouldn't require any calibration after the pen cap is left off. The pen does power off after a while to save bettery power. You just put the cap back on for a second and Presto! - it's on again!

Are you using the same VGA lead (usually has blue ends and 15 pins) to connect to your whiteboard? Bad or cheap VGA leads are often the problem with display issues.
