PANASONIC 32X IDE CDROM

My CR-586 is the best thing I've bought for a long time!!! Love it to bits!

I have a 32X CR-588 and it takes a long time to read Fuji Silver CDR's (twice as
long or more) You can hear the drive rev up and slow down like it's having
trouble reading, but it always eventually reads it. I know it's the drive since
my Pioneer 10X has no problem as does other non-Panasonics at work.
I burned the same image onto a KAO gold/green and it read fine on the CR-588.
Just be aware not to buy Fujis for the PAnasonic.

I have a CR585B (24X) and DAE is perfect.  Tried many CDROM drives, this one
is great.

  Get the Panasonic {Matsushita} CR588 {OEM} 1 YR warranty or the
Panasonic LK-MC682BP {retail} which is really a CR 586.... 3 YR
warranty. Both are 32x drives and do flawless DAE. Great drives!
