THE RED LIGHT IS ON AND BEEPS EVERY MINUTE

What motherboard do you have? If you don't know, provice make and model of your system and maybe we can find out that way. Is it one long beep? Are there any other beeps and/or a sequence. A good place to start and alot of times, depending on your bios, 1 to 3 beeps means a problem with the RAM(memory). If you have more than 1 stick, you can pull them out, restart and if the beep is the same, you've probably found your culprit. You can then insert one at a time in one of your slots, then restart. If this works, you've found a good stick. If not, try another slot and restart, etc. Try all sticks in all slots.

I have a Compaq Presario S4000V that is giving me repeating long beeps when I turn it on. The beep may go 10 or 20 seconds and then pause for about 5 seconds and then do the same thing again.

Hello
Usually this kind of beep code is an indication of a cpu or processor heat problem.
Make sure the processor fan is running by opening up the case and looking at it.

Also try claening out the inside of the pc,you can use a can of compressed air and a vacum cleaner for this.If the processor fan is not working get a new one,it should always be on when the pc is on.

This issue might happen due to RAM.

To resolve this issue:
Turn of the power supply for your desktop.
Please remove the side case on your tower(CPU).
find the RAM slot and remove the RAM from the Slot.
Clean the RAM terminals with the help of cloth or Eraser.
After cleaning place the RAM on RAM slot.
Now try to turn ON the PC desktop. If it is working thats fine or else you need to replace another RAM to check.

Please refer the below figure to find the RAM Slot and the lock to remove the RAM.

Dell inspiron 530s won't boot up and gives me 4 beeps a pause, 4 beeps etc.

4 Beeps indicates a RAM memory failure. Disconnect power, press and hold the power button to release all power from the motherboard, then re-seat the Memory.

If error doesn't go away, try modules one at a time to find the bad one

My presario 1600 just beeps when I turn it on...

there are 4 kinds of beeps that the pc produce when you turn it on, base on your beep it is indicating that the memmory is damage,

a single beep means the pc is ok
and your beep is memmory damage
a long beep pause and then beep long again means video card damage
if the beep sound like a firetruck the processor or memmory is over heating
