Question about Bosch Freezers

1 Answer

I have a freezer that does not keep tempreture. When I set it to -18 it will not get any warmer than -13 and if I try a super freeze it will take it the best part of all day to get to -18 and then it falls to -13 within 2-3 hours. I am worried that if I do not keep super freezing then it will get warmer and all the food in the fridge will defrost and I will lose it all.

That you can get down to -18 suggests the compressor works and there is enough gas to get on with. Check the seals of the freezer for a heat leak- it should be able to grip a piece of paper in the door when it's shut. If the seal is bad then the paper will fall out or come with a gentle pull - order and replace the seal.

Upright frigidaire freezer light flashing 6 degrees pressed super freeze will it reset??? How do I know if super freeze button working??

Check along the back and sides of the freezer for any vent-like openings that are covered or blocked by packages. There may be a sensor that's not getting air flow as it should. Although most upright freezers are now frost free, there still can be ice buildup in critical areas such as the thermal sensor or the fan. Can you tell if the fan is running?

Even if the compressor has failed, your frozen items will keep the temp down for several days. I suggest you move the frozen goods to a neighbor immediately. Meat or fish in particular quickly becomes unsafe to eat without at least refrigeration.

I just bought a used (but never installed) wf 1061 (freezer with a wine fridge). the unit and dsidplay lights up as normal...but i don't hear the compressor starting...can it be in demo mode?...

Try this also:

Super freeze 5 seconds set desired temp press super frees briefly again then adjust the wine cooler temp press super freeze again briefly, Next press menu and select normal. Then press menu again. To exit press super freeze again until it no longer blinks.

Freezer/Refrigerator tempurature swinging wildly

The compressor is overheating and not starting. Could be just the start relay. If this happens again try unplugging it for about an hour then it should work for a while. Heat between doors is normal this is an electric heater designed to keep the doors from sweating. You just noticed it because the refrigerator wasn't cold.
