Question about Buffalo Technology AirStation WLI-U2-KG125S (WLIU2KG125S) 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

I have the Buffalo Wireless Adapter WLI-U2-KG125S but it doesn't seem to have any drivers istalled. My cd seems to be damaged and I cannot update or even install a driver. I have no other means to access the internet. If it is possible I am wanting to find the driver on the internet and install it onto the device, another problem being that I am wanting to install drivers for windows xp home edition and I am trying to install the drivers on a computer that has Windows 7 will this affect the device in any way? Thanks a lot!!!

Probably
get around it by downloading any winxp drivers onto a usb stick in the pc running win 7 and using that in your pc with the win xp

SOURCE: with WLI-U2-KG54-AI my computer freezes

I had same problem with my Buffalo, my computer freeze after some time I was not working with it,most certainly when I watched movies. You might have a problem with USB power saving, I solved it and it works fine for me now. Go to deviece manager, find USB root hub device, list its properties and at power managment tab, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Please let me know if it works for you too lakk@azet.sk

There should have been drivers with it when you bought it. If not, here's a link: http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/234540/buffalo-wli-u2-kg54-ai-wireless-usb2.0-adapter-driver-1.01.02.0002-windows-98se-me-2000-xp-free-download.html If you install these drivers, your computer should detect the device. You will, though, still need a modem to be able to connect to the internet. I hope this helps, and if not, post back here, Yannick.

Cannot detect any wireless connections

Those types of devices if bent, while plugged in will stop working... Sounds like if you flex it as you plug in, it is briefly making connection. Is the device still under warranty? If so I would exchange it... One way to check whats happening on connection, right click "my computer" , go to properties, go to hardware then go device manager, then under network adapters, look for a red x. As the device is plugged watch for changes. If you see your buffalo device, and it has a red X, then I would try to re-install your drivers. If the device is not staying right after being plugged, I would suspect that may be physically broken.

Drivers

Put the CD in the drive and the adapter on your computer.
Go to the device manager then right click on the exclamation point with network controller on it. Click on update driver. choose the automatic option. After that just use the windows XP utility in the lower right . Right click on the single computer icon then click on view available wireless network. Select your network then click on connect.
