get around it by downloading any winxp drivers onto a usb stick in the pc running win 7 and using that in your pc with the win xp

I had same problem with my Buffalo, my computer freeze after some time I was not working with it,most certainly when I watched movies. You might have a problem with USB power saving, I solved it and it works fine for me now. Go to deviece manager, find USB root hub device, list its properties and at power managment tab, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.Please let me know if it works for you too firstname.lastname@example.org

There should have been drivers with it when you bought it. If not, here's a link: http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/234540/buffalo-wli-u2-kg54-ai-wireless-usb2.0-adapter-driver-1.01.02.0002-windows-98se-me-2000-xp-free-download.html If you install these drivers, your computer should detect the device. You will, though, still need a modem to be able to connect to the internet. I hope this helps, and if not, post back here, Yannick.
