I suppose you can mount it as close to the ceiling as you want as long as the blades do not hit the ceiling. It being that close will not allow the air to flow as well if it was 6 to 12 inches lower.

I cannot be specific about the wiring from the model information you provided. However this link to the model 154 may be useful if the two appear similar to you.

In this case, yes, the neutral must connect to the element and fan motor.

I bought and installed my new Westingouse turbo swirl in my kitchen. The blades are knocking my cupboard doors when I open the doors. Is there a way to shorten my fan so that it stands nearer to the c

Ceiling fans often come with two lengths of tubing to mount on different height ceilings. If you have it mounted with the long tube you may be able to remove that and install a shorter one. Alternatively you may be able to shorten the tube. If you are hitting the cupboards you are not centered in the room and it really should be, to be most effective.

Hampton bay ceiling fan broke. How to screw it back up

It already looks like it's "screwed up". ( LOL) BEFORE BEGINNING READ ALL OF THIS FIRST< PLEASE> First turn off the breaker that supplies power to the fan. Take down the whole unit up to the ceiling mounts. It looks like the wood is broken that the screw bracket used to mount the fan is on. If it is you will need to reinforce the wood and rescrew the fan mounting bracket on it. THe ball carrier from the bracket should now be secure and ready to mount the swing ball of the fan at the top of the fan unit motor. Next rewire the fan to the wires in the ceiling with the wire nuts you removed. Tighten the ball screw and push the cover plate up to the ceiling, fastening it in place with the screws provided to the ceiling plate...Done!

Floor model of a ceiling fan ... think about that for a minute!

I have to say no, you cannot do this. It may be possible but not without a lot of pain and extra expense. I have installed hundreds of fans. You may possibly be able to shorten the pipe that holds the fan but to actually mount it to the ceiling? You will have to have the ceiling hardware to do this. There goes the price benefit even if you can find the proper adapter/ceiling hardware.

Try shortening the pipe that suspends. You may find joy there.

Thanks for your question today. And thanks for the smile ... floor model ceiling fan :-)

I want to install a ceiling fan. My ceiling is 80 year old lathe and plaster design. Will the vibration from fan movement cause my ceiling to crack?

mcdevito75 here, Hopefully your ceiling fan will go where there has been an already light fixture, if so, that light fixture shoud be mounted to the ceiling beam, and your new fan will be mounted the same way. If by chance your new ceiling fan is being mounted where nothing was ever mounted you"ll have to make sure the ceiling fan will mount to a beam, they are every 16 inches apart. This way you:"ll know that vibration from the fan won"t hurt anything.

I can't find any mounting screws or bolts on the ceiling fan motor assembly. How do I remove it from the ceiling?

Yopu first need to drop the canopy co0ver from the ceiling mount. The cover may have screws at the very top edge. It may have screws at the bottom plate. It may have a decorative plastic ring at the very top that is conceling the mounting screws. You should be able to twist the plastic ring in an unscrewing motion and pull down to remove it.

Hampton bay is an exclusiove brand of Home Depot. Yopu shopuld be able to get a new light kit to fit your fan there or try any lighting store or Lowes. You will need to bring the old one with you to compare the size of the mounting plate and the araingement of the mounting screws to the new kit.

Need to uninstall the fan as it has become a bit loose from the ceiling

The first thing to do is loosen the ceiling canopy, there is usually a couple screws at the top edge of the canopy. then you want to disconnect the wiring, do not forget the green wire also. then depending on the mounting type, it may just lift out, one side of the mounting bracket has a space to allow the ball to pass thru. Or you may have to unscrew a couple mounting screws at the ends iof the mounting bracket

Hello, Just had a casabalanca 84u45d ceiling fan installed. Seems to low. Installer said cannot go any closer to ceiling.Store said it should. Who is correct.Need as close to ceiling as apossible.tks

According to the model # you gave the fan has a 2-3" down rod. You can not get ride of that or you can not mount the fan. here is a manual for the fan that you listed. On page 3 you will see how to mount to ceiling. If this is not the fan give me the right one so I can see if it can be flush mounted to the ceiling.
