Question about Smeg Dishwashers

2 Answers

My fully integrated smeg dishwasher is not working properly, it is operating without water. The power is on and working. When the dishwasher is turned on and the door is closed the dishwasher makes the usual starting beeps and white noise. However no water goes into the dishwasher and after approximately 10 minutes of working without water the dishwasher turns itself off. It then turns itself back on again 30 minutes later, works without water and then turns off again 10 minutes later.

Hi.

Re:" It then turns itself back on again 30 minutes later, works without water and then turns off again 10 minutes later."

That sounds as a shot electronic control board. It is hardly possible that any other single component alone may cause all those symptoms .

Before replacing timer control (which is expensive) better testing door lock, water level switch and inlet valve.
Most important part to test is the door latch, which can interrupt the cycle and cause random restart. This is tested by jumping its contacts.

To get parts or to contact a technician call the support number that you find on the use and care manual.

Hello. Begin by checking to be sure that the water supply to the dishwasher is turned on and that water is flowing and available to the machine. That said, when water supply is good, there are two possible reasons why no water would be entering the dishwasher:

1. Water-inlet valve The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. If this valve is defective, you need to completely replace it. It's usually located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side. It's the device with the main water line (usually copper) from the house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it. 2. Float switch The float switch is a small electrical switch that's located right below the dishwasher "floor." Above the switch, on the inside of the dishwasher, is a plastic cylinder that floats up as water fills the dishwasher. If this switch is defective, or if the plastic float gets caught or trapped in the raised position, the water can't enter the dishwasher. If the float switch is defective, you need to replace it.

Most likely the door is not shut properly or the door latch switch is faulty. I will assume the water is turned on and the power is connected. Also check the delay start is not programmed.

It may be possible that something fell out of the filter and into the drain pump. The machine will do a short drain cycle at the start of a program and if it is jammed or blocked, this will cause this problem.

No power after blocked drain dishwasher

Reset it by turning power off to it or unplugging it for a minute. If it still wont work then you need to take the kick panel off and see if there is leak under the machine.

How do i fit smeg integrated smeg dishwasher

Not sure I understand the question. Are you asking how you fit your new dishwasher into the old dishwasher's hole, or are you asking how you get the actual measurements of the dishwasher because you're building a new set of cabinets and need to build it to fit?

The wash spray arms are not turning the water line is free and not pinched water is on wiring is right whats up model its a ldf7920st

This sounds like your motor is not circulating properly, this will cause the spray arms not to operate properly, or at all. Are you receiving any kind of error code on the display? Also, how far is the dishwasher filling up?

Smeg integrated dishwasher continually washing - won't move to drying cycle.

you should check the heating element. if the water is not hot enough, the timer will not advance. crack open the door mid-cycle. let the water stop flying around. then open it all the way up. if you don't get a big ball of steam, you have an indication that your heating element may not be working properly. this is not too hard to check the resistance with a multimeter and then replace, if necessary. good luck

Machine won't drain fully

If the drain pump is working fine, and water flows from the machine and there are no clogged drain lines, then the problem is usually the water level sensor.

This is usually a floater sensor located on a side inside the dishwasher.

Check if water level is working properly, if the floater is too low then that is the problem.

SMEG Dishwasher - Water fill level is too low

Hi, I found your problem stuck here from one year ago.

I will post my solution the same, as reference for you and more users with same problem, apologies.

Re: smeg dishwasher fails to fill with enough water to sucessfully wash. It does put some water in.. but nowhere near enough.

Before checking parts inside the machine, ensure that water is coming from the faucet at the back with regular pressure.

To start check the water level sensor.

This is usually a floater sensor located on a side inside the dishwasher.

Check if water level is working properly, if the floater is getting stuck then that is the problem.

If the water level is OK, then the responsible is usually the inlet valve, or clogged inlet lines.

From description it looks more like a faulty water level.
