I have a previous go phone account and my phone broke so I purchased another go phone of the same carrier,and it is saying the smartchip is not registering?HELP!

"Smartchip not provisioned MM # 2" What does this mean???


Your smartchip apparently isn't active with your cellphone service company. Are you certain that the chip you have installed in the phone is the one that your cell service gave you currently? You mentioned putting minutes on your phone, so I'm assuming you have a pre-paid plan. You must have a smartchip that's specifically set up for that type of service.

If it works, there is an issue with your VU and you should contact AT&T for replacement options (warranty, insurance, upgrade). There are other options too like purchasing from ebay or craiglist, or getting a gophone (AT&T prepaid) and putting your SIM in it. It will have your phone number and contact information, you don't have to activate a prepaid account.

If the SIM does not work in another phone, get a SIM replacement. You can do this free and save $25 by going to your nearest AT&T COR store (the ones that sell iPhones, not best buy or walmart or apple... AT&T) and telling the tech support said to get a free SIM.

After resetting and downloading software for my sony ericsson w580i it shows now incorrect smartchip. I put in the normal chip i was ussing but still it says incorrect smart chip.?????


This means your phone is locked to some network you have previously used( Means u can't use other SIM Card unless ur phone is UNLOCKED) n r u having any contract with any network???

You cannot reactivate a smartchip aka sim card...once it's deactivated for security purposes they are not reactivated. You will need to get a new smartchip
