When I go to scan to the computer, I get an error message no scan options, it has worked before, I did have a new hard drive put into my mac, what can I do to get it to work,

New hard drive sounds like the "HP Printer Prog" is corrupted. If you have transfered all data from the old to the new there is a possiblity it failed to transfer all info.

Save yourself time, unistall and reinstallthe complete version from www.hp.com downloads, your mac version printer prog.

Good luck

Peter.

Want to scan from hp officejet pro 8500 to computor hp pavilion entertainment PC tx2000

There are 2 ways to scan from a HP AIO printer. This depends on your installation.

If you installed the full software set, you can press the PC Save/Scan to PC (each model the button is called different) button on the scanner. This will start the communication process and you follow the prompts on the screen.

If you didnt' install the full package from HP you can see if your printer is listed in the My Computer panel. Open my computer and look for the Scanner. double click it and it will open a option box, select how to scan then follow the prompts

HP Officejet Pro 8500 - issue scan & copy

while the printer is on take a damp cloth and wipe the scanner glass and then open the automatic document feeder and clean the scanner glass there and then remove the cartridges and close down the printer now just pull out the power cable from the back of the product and if possible and the walljack wait for 30 secs and replug the printer first to the walljack and then to the printer, now try to scan....(if your printer is wireless then after the above you will have to run the wireless setup wizard again).if that doesn't work, try the same above but just before plugging the printer cable press and hold the power button,if that doesn't work do the same holding the #3 buttons,if this doesn't work then do the same holding down the #6 buttons,if even this doesn't work then call in to hp at 1800-474-6836 and get a replacement

My Officejet Pro 8500 won't scan, although it did fine originally

It won't scan unless the HP scanning software is loaded and running on your PC, it needs to know where and how to scan, which is the scan options. It will scan and make a copy if you press copy, but it won't scan when you press scan unless that software is running.

When I try to scan, it reads "No Scan Options".

Try scanning from the solution center. If successful, check the scan button settings if you can see applications available on the 'Destination List'. Add all the application to the right side. Close the solution center and try to scan.
