Open Question

When I plug my Vector Rubbermaid VEC212RB portable heater/cooler into my vehicle DC outlet/socket, the red light bar on the VEC212B indicating "Low Vehicle Battery" lights up. What does that mean? What should I do?

I think you've actually diagnosed your problem. Get that fan moving and you'll probably make this go away. Rubbermaid has a website and decent customer service. If you're in warranty...go there first.

Try checking the fuse inside the power cord. To do that, twist the tip off. If the fuse is blown, replace it

SOURCE: Broke the 12v DC plug on our Rubbermaid/Vector

A generic plug should work...just be sure to size the fuse correctly to protect the unit. Most thermoelectric units draw about 4 to 5 amps...so a 10 amp fuse usually works.

I have a Vector 300 Amps Start It Jump Starter 12 Volt DC power supply. When unplugged the area light won't come on and the battery status lights don't show either. What could the problem be? Sheila

So, want to make sure I understand correctly, when its not plugged in to a power port on your vehicle direct current(DC) a work light on it does not come on. But there is a indicator light saying that there could be a fault.
so, does the key have to be on? and is the storage battery which its drawing its power from been check recently? sounds like its right at the border or past due continuous charging will also lead to a dead battery.

How do I know it's charging

if you can get your hands on a volt meter attach the meter to the charger clamps, red to red and black to black, turn the volt meter to DC volts (20V scale on most) and turn on the charger. You should be reading at least 12V.

On a vector jump start system, does the green light have to stay on to indicate that is charged> what if only the 2-3 red light go on when i press the test button?, when the green is flashing while...

2 - 3 red lights indicate not fully charged. Green light = fully charged.

Not fully charged does not mean it will not function. For best results, your device should be fully charged. If you have an emergency and are not fully charged, it will not hurt to try to help with a partial charged device IMHO

2nd season with 400 watt vehicle 1024 inverter. The

Restating the question - 400 watt inverter is turned on and running with the vehicle turned off.
After starting vehicle the red light of the inverter is on with no power output from the inverter.
If you turn the inverter off then on inverter operates normally.

Solution - this is normal operation - my inverter does the same thing. When you start the vehicle
it draws a lot of current from the vehicle battery which causes a drop in battery voltage. Most inverters have a low voltage input safety and will fault the device.'

If the problem is turn on inverter then the red light starts flashing... I am thinking you
have the same problem as the one I replaced - it broke... I am sure some capicator
or other component in the circuit failed... My solution was to purchase a new one...

My Vector Vec157 Flashlight won't Charge...

It is the battery, I have a similiar Vector light for a few years and tried re-charging the battery but only the little LED light would come on. I have another Vector light, same model and switched batteries from the worjking one to the non-working one and now it works fine.

I then proceeded to purchase a new battery for the non'working one and when I arrived home I installed it and turned on the main light, still won't turn on, I tried the LED's, they work. I figured maybe the new battery needs a good charge so I plugged the charger in and charged the light for 12 hours, still no main light.

I guess the new battery is defective, so now I will return it and exchange it for another one.
