Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Your model appears to be quite simple electrically. It does not have a major circuit board it's very possible that the pressure switch, wire connection at the dispenser, hinge or the interlock freezer lightswitch is bad on your model. Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

Electric dryers aren't very complicated. Here are some common symptoms that you may experience with your dryer:

There's an error code on the digital display

It doesn't work at all
There's no heat
It won't tumble
Drying is too slow
It overheats
It seems to run forever
It's noisy
It won't start
The light doesn't work
It blows fuses or trips the circuit breaker

My clothes are marked or torn

How to reinsert ice maker into 1992 Model TS25AF

You unscrew the srews holding the ice maker into the refrigerator. There may be 2 or 3. Then you should unplug any electrical connection, and saw on another site you need to remove the arm and install it onto the new ice maker. Then replace the new ice maker into refrigerator. There should be a different piece that's actually connected to the water input and then sends the water into the Icemaker.

Hello Expert, Our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator model GB9SHDXPS01 is warm, but the freezer is just fine. Frost builds up on the back wall. I removed all the ice with a hair dryer, but about 6 days later,...

The problem is most likely either the defrost timer, and/or the defrost heater element(s) are faulty. The problem is actually that the defrost heater elements are not functioning properly and the evaporator core is actually freezing up and blocking the air flow through the evaporator core and also freezing up the thermal sensor, and when that happens there is no longer enough cold air being circulated through the refrigerator (that is actually how the unit operates and air must be able to flow through the evaporator core and then be circulated throughout the refrigerator to properly function) and as a result the refrigerator stops functioning and food can even thaw out in the freezer although the freezer seems to be iced up. (Usually at the rear wall where the evaporator core is located)

(Air flow through the evaporator core and cold air circulation and re-circulation through the refrigerator is performed by the air circulation fan and it also must be functioning)

Be sure to only use a blow dryer (with a towel on the bottom of the freezer) to thaw out the evaporator core and do not use any hard or sharp objects or the evaporator core can be damaged. The defrost timer can be located inside of the refrigerator itself, (see lower image) or it can be mounted outside usually either behind the air intake cowl or kick panel at the front base of the refrigerator, or most likely located behind the service panel on the rear of the refrigerator, and usually if the defrost timer is turning then it is most likely working, however the defrost timer can move very slowly and you can place a mark on the timer and the housing to check after about fifteen minutes to see if the position on the defrost timer has changed. The deforst timer on newer digital models can be built into the circuit board and is not a seperate timer mechanism. The defrost heater coils can easily be checked by dis-connecting them and using an ohm meter, and a high or an infinite reading would indicate a faulty heater coil, however most of the time they are easily identified as being bad just by looking at them.

Here are some images that should be similar to your situation to help assist you, and let me know if you require any further assistance.

When you switch on the fridge, do you hear the sound of compressor working OR when you touch the fridge there is little vibration. If not then the power is not properly connected. Check the power supply cord and ensure that wires are connected properly. Also check the power outlet in the wall. If above is OK then you have to get the gas checked up. There may not be sufficient gas. If the gas is OK then the condenser/compressor is not functioning for that you have to call a technician from the technician from the service center.

My whirlpool dryer has no heat. the drum turns.

Your issue is;
"my whirlpool dryer has no heat. the drum turns."

Based on the information provided above, I am unable to access my database to provide you with exacting information. A valid model number was not provided. However, I have provided some common solutions to help guide you in your search.

This information is for an electric, generic model dryer only!

My Solution is:

Following this link, http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SmartSearch.aspx, provides valuable D.I.Y. safety information on the make and model number of your appliance. In order to access your product information, you will need to enter the model number stamped on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the User’s Manual.

Note: A volt-ohm meter is beneficial in performing electrical tests.

Temperature Switch; make sure a positive heat selection has been made, still no heat, then check these:

Power from the house
Heating element
Thermal fuse
Wiring
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

Please show your appreciation by rating my solution.
Thank you,
Dave E. (Illeagle)

My whirlpool refrigerator trips the main power

Pankaj, Do you have a ohm meter? Sounds like you have something shorting back. First take the meter to the cord. On the end of the cord, you should show no continuity from each male prong to the ground prong on the cord itself. If you show continuity, you have something shorting back. Then I would start with the compressor, Unplug the wires going to the overload and relay, make sure the units unpluged and meter the cord again. If it's ok, then the problem is in the overload and relay. Start there and let me know, if it still showing a short, then we will have to go to the controls, heater, and repeat the process until you find the culprit. Catriver.
