Question about Acer Aspire 6530-5143 Notebook PC

My laptop is one month past the factory warranty and will not boot to windows..just goes to a blue hazy screen. I have ran the recovery, it went through the set up and booted to start screen and then returned to the blue hazy screen. Took it to a local pc shop and was told that it was probably in the motherboard. Any thoughts?

Contact ACER and explain your problem and tell them the PC shop said it was probably the motherboard. Tell them it is just out of warranty and you expect help/repair for this so called quality product.
If you cannot get satisifaction, contact the government consumer affairs department in your country.

I have a compaq presaio CO60 Laptop. I had problems with it and i tried to run the recovery cd but i got no bootable device. I ran Hiren's BootCD 12.0 on it and i used a windows 7 disk on it and it will...

Try starting in safe mode. A blue screen will often mean that there is program on the computer that is causing a problem. If you can boot in safe mode, try to uninstall any unnecessary programs, or any programs that you just installed recently. If you cannot boot, I guess I wonder if this is a windows 7 is the original operating system that the computer came with from the factory?
It seems to me that the blue screen is coming up because the computer is trying to load a program or driver that is not compatible with the CMOS.

You can hit the F2 key after you start up and reset the system BIOS to orginial factory setting. You can also make sure that the boot order places the CD drive ahead of the hard drive. That will allow a bootable disk in the CD to take precedence over starting from the hard disk.
Your recovery CD is generally a bootable device. I looks like you have verified that the CD drive is working.

If I can be of further assistance to you, please let me know. Please verify the model number of your presario laptop, they are start with a "C" with the numbers following. The lowest model number they list is 300 at this time. Unless you have a much older laptop.

You can try to do a system restore using the system recovery.

There are different ways for doing a system recovery on XP computers and on Vista or Windows 7 computer.

Assuming you are using Windows Vista
On boot press the F11 key repeatedly, When you reach the Recovery manager screen select Advance options.

Select the option do restore the computer to an earlier time.

It will show you the restore points

Select the best restore point and try to do a restore

If system restore does not work then you will have to follow the same steps to perform a system recovery by selecting the option to restore the computer to its original factory condition.

Ran the Tshibery disk recovery disk. Completed and

Complete the recovery again but leave the discs in the computer. That way if the computer needs some files while rebooting it will take them off the cd....if not it will load and that will be the end of that. Just remember when you boot the computer for the first time to initiate the recovery, when it says to boot from cd touch any key...that is only done one time when you first initiate the recovery...after that do not touch any key if it says that...just let windows boot on it own. Once windows boots on its own, then you can take the recovery disc out and put it away.

When running diagnostic for Dell computer was given error code OF00:1A44. I ran the diagnostic becasue I was unable to get past the blue screen in Windows - error there is Unmountable_boot_volume.

Boot to the XP CD, Enter recovery console by pressing "R" at the 1st prompt, run the command CHKDSK /P and see if the system will boot normally after the command finishes running. If nothing changes, then the hard drive will need replacement

have you prepared a recovery cd or dvd, since vista software asks you to write a recovery cd first itself.if you have one, use that cd or dvd to reboot your system

Can't boot past post screen

Is this a brand new laptop? If so it appears windows has crashed and you will need to use the recovery CD/DVD. I would take it back if it's new as that should not have happened so quickly with a new computer. If it is used and you don't have a recovery disk then it gets a little more difficult.You will need to get a windows system disk or install disk and boot up with this in the laptop to load windows whatever into your hard drive and set your laptop up to run on the new drive. Will not boot even from recovery media disks

If you have an XP disk, or even one you can borrow, you might want to try to see if you can boot from that. I have one of those machines that I run with regular XP, I wish you well. A still small voice told me to get the extended warranty, and I am so grateful. Since buying mine in Nov 2004, it's gone in for factory warranty at least 12 different times.
