Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

On the screen it says lens error and then the lens go back in

The lens doesn't get tilted unless it's been abused. That means it was dropped, sat on or stepped on. The warranty doesn't cover anything like that. It would cost money to be fixed. Tell your parents what happened, and tell them you are sorry. Maybe you are too young yet to have a camera. They are delicate things, and you have to treat them very gently. I have had cameras since I was 11 years old, and I have never dropped one or ruined one in any way. Sorry this happened...

THANKS.

Casio Exslim EX-Z33: Lens Error Message; Lens stuck

The camera might not of had been dropped or abused at that moment, but it sounds like one of your ribbons is not full connected to its port due to a previous unnoticeable drop or mishandling. In other words, if you are savvy enough to open the camera, remove the ribbons (2 of them, found on the front side of the camera coming from the lens) and re-insert them into their ports. I have only needed to do this once on this particular camera, but at least 30 times on the Exilim line of Casio cameras. Hope this helps.

Says lens error restart camera yet my lens will not close

Hi, your lens has probably been damaged , usuallly by dropping or bumping , or sand or some other particle may be jamming it. Try using a piece of photo film ( exposed negative) to search for anything that may be stuck in the lens where it telescopes out. Another "fix" is to firmly bang the corner of the camera case into the palm of your hand quickly after pushing the power button. This may loosen the jam

PowerShot SD630 lens stuck out, says lens error, restart camera

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Lens Error, Restart

Hi

What you are seeing is a generic stuck lens error message, turning off the camera and turning it on again will not fix the lens unfortunately.

Your lens needs to be cleaned or repaired, and if it cant be repaired it needs to be replaced. There are online places that will do it for a decent price and there are others that overcharge by way too much.

Fixya rules prevent me from giving you a link to anything off Fixya that would help you fix your camera.

Good luck from....

Lens error

This error... lens error.. can be the result of many abuses. If the lens is held back as it is extending, it can damage the tiny parts. If the lens is bumped while it is extended, it may damage the internal parts beyond repair. Sometimes the lens get off track as a result of a blow while extended.
If the camera is dropped, the lens mechanism can be damaged from the impact, even though it is not extended.
If you treat a digital camera with a lot of care, and put in a padded camera bag, you may extend the life of the camera.

Canon PowerShor S3 not functioning

Had my S2 IS now for 3 years , never had a problem with the lens. I'm careful not to bump my lens into anything. I actually bought the lens hood and put a filter on my lens so that no dirt can get into my lens or I can't accidentally bump my lens into anything while i'm using it as it's protected by the adapter and filter.
