I keep geeting texts from 9067 but its just a bunch of letters and symbols with one smiley face that looks like a confused face. It sometimes comes every half hour but at other times it doesn't come for a few hours. I have a blackberry curve 8520/30. It comes even when my phone is not in use but it doesn't come when my phone is off. It is starting to become very annoying so I would really like for it to stop. I talked to sprint but they were unable to stop it from happening again. Please tell me what I could do to stop this. Is there even a way to do this or do I have to change my phone number? Please get back to me as soon as u can. Thank you.

Hi

the blackberry curve 8520 doesnt have any pre installed software or application that will block a certain number from calling/texting us.

Sprint cannot stop this because that number/user initiates the text message and they cannot get that one particular sender to be block on their server so you will not get any messages from that number.


2 Possible solution

1. you can buy the black/list software for curve 8520 that will allow you to block that number to call/text you.

2. you have to change your phone number.

That are smileys,its like expressions. your mobile set does't support it. so you are getting it like that. (it will be like a head symbol)

Most phones have a button that functions as a shift key, allowing more letter/symbol options, there should also be something like a symbols key that opens up a menu with other symbols. Smileys ya just gotta go like this, =)

    As sms is text only, people will get text messages only. To convert the smiley-characters into smiley images, the receiver should have support for emoticons, or have a 3rd party program to translate the emoticons. As most phones consider SMS as text messages, they won't convert them to emoticons...

    You could try sending a message to yourself, or someone else with a k850i...Just to try.
