Need to reset my nobi notebook to factory settings

If you just require you operating system to be reset and remove all data then put your operating system disk in and boot up and install again. Please be mindful the this will not put any other none windows programs back on, microsoft office etc. you will need original disks or a full backup to do this and you will lose all data. If you want to reset your bios the factory setting only, then boot up from cold and press f2, delete or F12 according to your machines screen display before it gets to boot up windows. look though the tabs until you find the 'reset to default' listed, click, save and exit. Job done! Hope it helps

Restore my acer aspire 5742 back to factory settings w/out disk

Step 1 Open the Windows Start menu by clicking on the icon in the lower left corner of your desktop.
Step 2 Click "All Programs," then the "Acer" folder.
Step 3 Select "Acer eRecovery Management" to open the utility. If a Windows prompt asks for permission to run the program, click "Yes."
Step 4 Click the "Restore" button in the pane on the left side of the program window.
Step 5 Click "Completely Restore System to Factory Defaults."
Step 6 Select the "Yes" option in the dialog box that asks you to confirm the action, and click "Start."
Step 7 Click "OK" in the second confirmation dialog box to restart the computer.
Step 8 Click "Next" in the warning window that appears after the computer reboots. This confirms that you realize restoring the computer deletes any data stored on your hard drive.
Step 9 Click "Next" again in the Restore Destination window, and click "OK" in the popup that gives you one last warning about deleting your data. The restoration process will begin.
Step 10 Click "OK" when the utility lets you know that the restoration is complete. The computer will restart, and Windows will finish the recovery process.

My computer is an Acer aspire x3200 but about a year ago i downloaded ubuntu and used it for 3 months then parents wanted window vista back we didnt know how to do it so my mom gave computer to her friend...

Sounds like "her friend" formatted the hard drive when he fixed it, which deleted the recovery partition. He/she ran fdisk and deleted all the partitions to max disk space.

I've come close to doing this before myself when I haven't paid close attention. Not all computers have a recovery partitions.

But I'd avoid Vista at all costs. Windows 7 is something you can get dirt cheap now (Craigslist) and it's much better.

He/she probably only had the 32-bit version, which is lame if you have more than 4GB of Ram.

This is really a simple fix for someone that has a copy of windows 7 and a valid ***********.

If you really want it like it was, I'm sure Acer will sell you a recovery DVD that you can just drop in your DVD drive and boot to it. But again, Vista stinks compared to Win 7.

How to repormat a laptop

Before reformatting the pc you must back up necessary files and applications that you might have. Because during the process all files would be deleted and pc would be back to its factory default. You may follow the steps below to reformat the pc.

1. Turn on the computer. When the Dell logo
appears, press <F8> several times to access
the Vista Advanced Boot Options Window.
2. Select Repair Your Computer.
3. The System Recovery Options window
appears.
4. Select a keyboard layout and click Next.
5. To access the recovery options, log on as a
local user. To access the command prompt,
type administrator in the User name
field, then click OK.

6. Click Dell Factory Image Restore. The Dell
Factory Image Restore welcome screen
appears.
NOTE: Depending upon your configuration,
you may need to select Dell Factory Tools,
then Dell Factory Image Restore.
7. Click Next. The Confirm Data Deletion
screen appears.
NOTICE: If you do not want to proceed with
Factory Image Restore, click Cancel.
8. Click the checkbox to confirm that you want
to continue reformatting the hard drive and
restoring the system software to the factory
condition, then click Next.
The restore process begins and may take
five or more minutes to complete. A message
appears when the operating system and
factory-installed applications have been
restored to factory condition.
9. Click Finish to reboot the system.
Operating System Reinstallation
Before you Begin
If you are considering reinstalling the Windows
operating system to correct a problem with a
newly installed driver, first try using Windows
Device Driver Rollback. If Device Driver Rollback
does not resolve the problem, then use System
Restore to return your operating system to the
operating state it was in before you installed
the new device driver. See "Using Microsoft
Windows System Restore" on page 38.
NOTICE: Before performing the installation,
back up all data files on your primary
hard drive. For conventional hard drive
configurations, the primary hard drive is the
first drive detected by the computer.
To reinstall Windows, you need the following
items:
• Dell Operating System media
• Dell Drivers and Utilities media
Restoring Your Operating System
NOTE: The Dell Drivers and Utilities media
contains drivers that were installed during
the assembly of the computer. Use the
Dell Drivers and Utilities media to load any
required drivers. Depending on the region
from which you ordered your computer, or
whether you requested the media, the Dell
Drivers and Utilities media and Operating
System media may not ship with your
computer.
Reinstalling Windows
The reinstallation process can take 1 to 2 hours
to complete. After you reinstall the operating
system, you must also reinstall the device
drivers, virus protection program, and other
software.
1. Save and close any open files and exit any
open programs.
2. Insert the Operating System disc.
3. Click Exit if the Install Windows message
appears.
4. Restart the computer.
5. When the DELL logo appears, press <F12>
immediately.
NOTE: If you wait too long and the
operating system logo appears, continue to
wait until you see the Microsoft® Windows®
desktop; then, shut down your computer
and try again.
NOTE: The next steps change the boot
sequence for one time only. On the next
start-up, the computer boots according to
the devices specified in the system setup
program.
6. When the boot device list appears, highlight
CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive and press <Enter>.
7. Press any key to Boot from CD-ROM.
Follow the instructions on the screen to
complete the installation.
