Epson stylus pro 9900 light light black clogged

The printer is a 1 year-old epson stylus pro 9900 purchased 1 1/2 years ago. It has printed approximately 3500 prints without any problems whatsoever until about 3 weeks ago. The problem occurs with the nozzle test prints. The light light black section is missing approximately half of the test lines in these prints. Paired cleaning and a power cleaning have failed to correct the problem. I also tried applying water to the cap assembly and allowed the printer to sit overnight without any success. The problem began abruply after I changed the ink for the light light black channel.

Since the problem appeared after you changed the ink then the ink was either the wrong composition - a bad batch - or it was incompatible with the old one and it reacted chemically with it and clogged the head. There isn't very much left you can do now - you should remove the printing head and let it soak over night in isopropylic alcohol, it's a powerful diluent, then wipe it with a paper towel and resoak it until the towel comes out clean. Then remove the present cartridge and buy a new one, identical to the first. Finally run some more deep cleaning cycles.
If even that doesn't unclog it then the head is gone, you will need a new one.

I am confused by your question here... do you have a light / error message lighting up on the printer? What exactly is clogged? I can definitely help you but need more info.

Thanks
Tim

Print head go left and right non stop when the command for print is given - but does not print anything even when ask to do a nozzle check - the printhead goes al the way left and right again and again...

When was the last time the machine worked, please? What you describe sounds like clogged or dry print heads.

What happens if you try cleaning the heads not the standard once, but at least four time in a row without doing anything else in between, please? Don't try a test, don't switch off; just run the cleaning routine at least four times in straight row. (Sorry that might use a lot of ink)

How to remove and clean epson stylus pro 7000 printer head its cloged

Welcome to FixYa!

If you have not used your printer for a long time, the print head nozzles may be clogged. Perform a nozzle check and clean the print heads.

Use the Epson Printer Utilities to do a nozzle check and to clean the printer head.
