19 hp bs runs good but flooding out seems to run smooyher with choke part out air filter full of fuel took filter off and it seems to run good but still to rich on fuel was told carb was rebuilt just amonth ago before ibought

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.
Be careful when blowing out the passages because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.
Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor a few times, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets,but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
Keep in mind that the float for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor.
If the mower/weedeater is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit,because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, You will first seat the jet screws and count the number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns they were in/out.

Starts up runs then starts sputtering and dies doe not want to restart for a while was fine till i filled up first time i filled up in a while the motor just quit and took a long time to restart .

Start at 1.5 CCW form lightly seated then tune for performance like this:

CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too.

I think your starting procedure may be the cause of flooding. Flooded is the #1 cause of hard starts in 2-cycle engines. Read carefully the recommended start in your manual. most miss the second note. It should be similar to this (read 3, read it again):
Warm start in the manual says 1/2 choke BS. Close choke, (sets fast idle) open choke, pull rope.
Start Procedure
Cold:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls; no more than 4).
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release.
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts (usually first pull).
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws) – Do not pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open) choke, pull starter until it starts (usually first pull).

Hello,

First thing to check would be your air filters make sure not blocked as this will act as the choke if blocked and will flood the engine,

If all is well remove plug and remove as much excess fuel as possible with compressed air etc, then reassemble and see if it will fire,(With full throttle and NO CHOKE) you may have to repeat this a couple of times...

Once you get the engine to fire it may geep running if the engine was just flooded otherwise if the engine floods again then you will most likely have a problem in your carby mabie a piece of rubbish under the needle valve holding it open causing the engine to flood and the carby will have to be cleaned and tank flushed

21hp intek v-twin runs only with choke on full


You are not getting enough fuel.... by choking it you are enriching the mixture with less air , more fuel.Some where in the fuel system or carbureator something is still plugged.Or the mixture screw is too far in.

Hi,
If it is only running high at full choke - then it is not getting enough fuel.
You've cleaned out the whole thing - so it's not air that's the problem. It's running - so it's not a spark problem - it's a fuel problem.

If you have a fuel filter - change it out or clean it properly. If the fuel line is clear, then you need to adjust the running setting of the carb - there are usually 2 setting knobs -one for idle - one for running / mix.
You need it running richer till you get it going - then trim it back to stop it smoking and get a good rev.

That's really strange. The low-speed fuel adjustment screw may be set way too rich, but that doesn't seem likely. With the air filter off, look at the choke plate if possible as you advance the throttle and see at what point the choke closes. Back it off till the choke opens and then put the filter back on and try to start it at that setting. Another thing that could cause too much fuel is if the adjustment of the carburetor float is off, causing the fuel level to be too high in the carb bowl.

Cannot keep tiller running


Could a gas/oil mix been used by mistake. When you cleaned carb did you also clean dusty air filter?? Try leaveing off filter first and run. Are you sure you are in "choke position" when engines seems to be running ok,be sure to double check yourself here. If engine runs ecelleant in "choke" sounds like your in "Run" position and positioning is problem not performance.

Engine keeps flooding out


Recommend completely draining the fuel system. Tank, lines, and carb. Make sure everything is clean and dry. Clean or replace fuel filter. Always try to store it with a full tank of fuel. It is common to get condensation when the weather goes from warm to cold and back.
