I have a Ryobi R-151 router with an 8mm collet, I cannot find and router bits with 8mm shanks, is their a 6mm collet, or adaptor available for this model? Regards Pete

There are 8mm to 6mm adapter sleeves available. If you take the collet along to a power tool store they may be able to supply you with a suitable 6mm collet. I can't find what type of collet is in the router, but I'm betting it is a ER-11 type in that size range.

What size bits does the black&decker router model#7613 take

A tommy bar is used to lock shaft whilst collett is tightened or reverse by spanner. Easier if motor unit removed from clamp assembly

When I conect to my router I loose internet to my desktop and my laptop. I have had this router for several years and I do not have the manuel or info for this router Part # F5D7230-4 . Do you think

Routers have a reset button located in the back usually pin size so you may need a paper clip. If you hold the reset button in for 30 seconds, with the router plugged in. The router will be set back to factory settings. Now your modem needs to be reset too. If this modem also offers phone service it may have a battery back up so you will need to remove that as well. Once you have reset both devices unplug the power to both. Then connect all network cable, the cables going from modem to router and the cables going to the router to the computers and other devices. Finally power on modem then router. should be good to go. Remember by resetting the devices you will lose any setting you may have changed sense the day you bought the device. Any trouble just ask.

I have a brand new Ryobi router model ERT241200. Am I supposed to insert the 1/4'' collet into the cavity where the collet nut is, then insert the bit into the collet and tighten the collet nut? I thought...

Do you have the collet upside down? It should fit in nicely and the lock nut fit over the top, no problem, If it doesn't, something is wrong. They only make 2 sizes of collets for router bits, 1/4 and 1/2 , if they get their parts from somebody who makes just collets, you could have easily gotten a different size in there. See if a router bit will fit the hole, then go to the store where you bought the router and ask them to try it in your router and see if it fits, they might have collets on the shelf. Check it out.

Craftsman Router will not power on

You definitely have a faulty switch. I used to have the same router and had the same problem. I had to take the switch apart and clean it. I got tired of the unreliability and bought a new Milwaukee.

Can't change bit

loosen the nut that holds the bit and sometimes you have to drive the bit into the router a little to get the collet to release.

Drops the internet connection and has to be rebooted at least once a day.

Try to reduce the MTU of the router. If you're on DSL, set the MTU size to 1492, for Cable connection size is 1400 or 1463. You can do it on the router's admin page

How does one change from one collet size to another size. My Freud router came with the 1/2" collet installed and I need to change to the 1/4" size supplied with the router to fit a bit I want to use....

I just did this on my black and decker router. You need to unscrew the nut that holds the collet and remove it altogether. Then slip out the collet in there and replace it with the new size. Take care to notice how it goes in when you take the old one out. Then rescrew the nut that holds it in place and tighten. My router had three collets and only one of them works for each size, so if it doesn't tighten properly, it may be the wrong size. Good luck.

Black and decker router kw850e

the third standard handheld collet size is 8mm (thank the germans for that). you could either get a new 8mm collet for the router or for cheaper get a 1/2" to 8mm reducing sleeve from a good tool stockist or ebay... the sleeves are unversal. the collets are not...

good luck
