Question about Kenmore Elite HE4 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

I have a 5year old Kenmore Elite HE4 gdryer that is not giving enough heat to have clothes completely dried. I understand that it may be a problem with thermistor. But how do I find the right diagram to locate this and how to test it?

I would check the vent hose as it is restricted with lent or crimped.

How do you change the heating coil?

Before you try that, you should try to clean the dryer vent lines. If they're blocked, you won't have enough airflow to dry your clothes.

Cloths not drying all the way

if you have heat and the clothes take to long to dry you need to clean out the dryer the lint duct and blow out the vent line, also go outside and make sure there isn't a cage or something acting like a lint catch stopping air from blowing out where the flapper is

Brown marks on my light coloured clothes

I just noticed My Frigidaire doing the same thing. Using a lightly soapy damp cloth, I cleaned the interior, paying particular attention to the small gap between the drum and the housing. I also took apart the lint pre-filter and screen and cleaned them. There was a filmy build up of the same colored substance. I suspect that dryer sheets are leaving a waxy residue that over time is sufficient enough to rub off on lighter colored, primarily synthetic, fabrics.

If you have ever removed the lint filter area completely via the screws that hold the plastics in so you could clean it then remove it again and insure that you plugged in the two wires that go to the strip sensor.. (moisture sensor)
