Question about Kenmore 15202 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

The first time the machine was used it jammed. I hadn't been touched since and as I was trying to determine what was wrong when I discovered that the shuttle hook basically falls out of the machine. Don't know if a part is missing that should hold it in place. The shuttle race cover and the latches are in place.

Take it to your nearest Sears store and go right to the sewing machine department, they are usually very helpful and can tell you if it needs service or not. Take your manual with you.

Why is bobbin tread jamming on my husqvarna viking juliett sewing machine

Most of the time, you should rethread the machine, take the bobbin out and put it in again and change the needle. Generally if it is jamming under the fabric, it is because something is wrong with the top ie rethread the machine.

I was sewing, turned the machine off to pin something, and when I turned it back on, it jammed in the bobbin area. It will only stitch one stitch and then jams. I have taken it apart over 30 times, and...

have you tried changing the needle-
1.the needle may be bent or damaged--try rolling the needle on a flat surface to see if it's bent or not
Correct needle insertion
Correct needle insertion is mandatory for proper use of sewing machine.
Raise the needle bar to the highest point, then loosen the clamp screw to remove the old needle, place the new needle in the clamp with the flat side to the back of the machine or if using a round needle--the groove in the needle should face away from the shaft.
Push the needle all the way up to the stop or as far as it will go, then tighten the needle clamp screw
2.upper tension may be to tight--try 3 to 5
3.thread may be hanging up in bobbin case--check area for loose threads or lint
check the thread take up lever-if the thread come off the thread take up lever that will jam the machine up--I've had it happen to me

The thread is tight and it jams

try adjusting the thread tension
check to see if the top thread has come off the thread take up lever--this can cause the machine to jam
change the needle----if the needle is the slightest bit damaged the cause the machine to jam---also the wrong needle for the fabric can cause problems also
try rethreading the machine incase the thread is caught somewhere
make sure the bobbin is in correctly & it's not warped

if you've already done all these things & it still jams up then it could be out of time & would have to be serviced by a repair shop with the correct tools to time it

Very inexperienced sewer! How do I thread it?

The way I solved this problem was to take a break! When I resumed I was more patient and found that I wasn't doing the bobbin right. I took my time and got it right this time....hooray!
